Deal or No Deal
I'm currently in negotiations for the 2019 ES 350. MSRP is $46,913. It includes the premium and nav packages. The dealer is willing to take $3113 off MSRP. The final OTD price is $47392 which includes tax, title, license and $395 for tent. Is this a good offer?
I've yet to discuss my trade in of my 2014 ES 350 which has 56000 miles. Carmax made an offer of $16k which is on the low end. They noted my windshield which does have a couple of rock chips. Not large, but noticeable on inspection. I've had body damage on 3 occasions and all was repaired by Lexus. Is $18000 too much to realistically ask for?
I've arranged financing for 2.73% which I'm told is a great rate!!!

To determine a fair price for your trade-in I go online and get values from at least 3 valuation companies such as Edmund's, NADA, etc. I then average the three and use that as a bargaining point. Of course you will only get the wholesale value for your car vs. retail. I recently sold my 2013 (last week) in the CL Marketplace department. I got $6000.00 more than the dealer offered. It's not for everyone but I got a hit after three days... Picked up my 2019 today... I consider the discount fair at around 6.5%.
BTW, what is "tent"...

6.6% off the factory sticker MSRP is not much. A year ago when only the '18's were available 15-18% off MSRP was pretty routine around here (some boasted about more than that but I don't believe them). Out the door price is irrevalent. Focus on % off MSRP. Possibly you might have to wait until Spring or early summer to get 15% off.

After that we went to a tag place to get a transport tag for the drive back to Maryland and the rest is history... Not the first time I've done this...

Came to my home in Pennsylvania from Maryland, looked over the car which was in literally perfect condition, took it for a drive, went to his bank and got a bank check for payment.

How do you feel about inviting a stranger to your house? I guess I'm asking if that concerned you at all.

No, not really. I had two friends there with me. The first was Smith and the second was Wesson... I'm a retired Philly cop so have some insight with people.

I just bough 2019 es350 f sport in texas and sticker was $47585 and I go it for $43,356 out the door for $45,980 out the door. Got it tinted with ceramic tint for $280.
I think if you want the best price for your trade you sell it your self. If not go to carmax like previously mention or go to texas direct I have always found them to be higher then car max and take that to the dealer to get the most cash with less hassle of selling for yourself.
I can give you the name of my guy in houston or if you closer to dallas I can give you his name too. both are easy to work with.
