This morning when I started to back out I received a “Rear Camera Detection Unavailable Remove the Dirt of Rear Camera” message. I drove 500 miles yesterday so this message wasn't alarming. I wiped the lens with a paper towel and, sure enough, it was dirty. The system returned to normal as described on p. 215 of the OM.

Tonight it;s raining. This is my first time driving the car in rain. The first backup didn't generate a message; but when I had to park at my destination ~7 mi. later I got it. Reading the "design flaw" thread revealed that others are experiencing the same.

Annoying.

 

I get this constantly, even though the image is clear. Will discuss at first service.

 

Interesting-pouring rain today and actually had droplets impeding my visibilty through the camera but no message.
