For the last several years that has been a dealer only setting with kind of a vague description. I believe most recently what it does is not activate the chime until you exceed 12 mph. The warning light continues to operate in any case. Also, disabling may only apply to the driver's belt not the passenger side.

As a side note: the 2018 Camry even has seat belt warning lights for all three rear seat passengers - a cool feature, no more turning around to see if everyone is belted up.

You'll have to take it in for service to disable it. Usually within 10k miles, they'll do it free as they're supposed to do a personalized setup at 5k.

Thank you, it's for the daily one minute drive from the clubhouse back to our home on an interior road.

There is a triple indicator for rear seat passengers on the ES too.

If you get the Carista app, you should be able to do it yourself. At least I was able to on my LS.

Buckle up. What could it hurt? In some Volvos, the car won't move unless the seat belts are buckled.

The annoyance comes when moving the car for a little bit without the seatbelt buckled, or when you have a passenger for a mile or whatever and they don't buckle their belt.

After the pool, I throw a towel on the seat for the 1.0 mile ride back to the house. It is just easier to not buckle up. The RC we have has a much more pleasant chime. The ES is loud and shrill.

Check out the website and see... www.carista.com

My two favorite things I turned off? The seat belt chime and the buzzer when you leave the headlights on (Lexus vehicles turn the headlights off automatically even if they are in the on position).

This has been discussed in the 6th gen forum. There are a couple of us 2013 owners where they do not turn off in the on position.

I would be very surprised by that. EVERY Toyota or Lexus product I have ever had the lights turn off automatically according to the delay settings in the on position...

Buddy of mine just bought a 2016 though, so I can check.

My local dealer's service department refused to disable it, citing government regulations.
