I don't think that is possible even with dealer settings. I've always thought it was only functional when someone was in the passenger sear simply because it was not needed and replacement is expensive even though if all of the other deploy what is one more?

And I am curious as to why you want it to be always on. I suppose there might be a way to fool it by buckling the belt and of course placing something in the seat but that itself could be dangerous. I recently had an accident with air bag deployment with a box in the seat (I've always told my wife not to do that) and the box simply went on to the floor but it could have easily been blown right into me by the passenger side airbag.

Okay - I do agree the light is a little annoying.

Still thinking about the passenger side front airbag - it is not active without a certain amount of weight in the seat and it may be a safety mechanism in case a small child was in the front seat for some reason. A smaller child could not handle an airbag exploding in it's face - trust me on this.

I tried the black electrical tape. Some have said it was nice, but it was noticeable to me. Sort of like putting on a goalie mask to hide a pimple. Maybe I didn't have the right type of electrical tape. They should have made it a blue light so it blended in with the infotainment system.. Over the years, my cars have trained me that yellow lights signal a warning that something needs attention. Besides, I don't see why it needs to be turned off and on. Having it on can't hurt. The airbag is activated only in a collision strong enough to total your car. Having one that didn't actuate isn't going to mean anything. Just my non-expert opinion.

I haven't looked, how hard would it be to pull out that bulb? There must be a way to replace it so you must be able to remove it.

Its something you will get used to.

Having it on absolutely can hurt. You don't want airbags deploying when you don't need them to. The airbags absolutely can deploy in a collision that isn't serious enough to total your car too.

They wouldn't have set it to activate and de-activate if there wasn't a benefit to doing so.

I think you will find that it is a circuit board of sorts without a removable / replaceable bulb. And this is the reason people tape over warning lights like this - not attractive on a new Lexus.
