I haven’t had any issues using Amsoil fluids. Regarding the Fumoto I’m just sharing my experience, I’ve used them twice, I don’t bother anymore. The problem with oiled air filters is over time they leave a film of oil on the mass airflow sensor. Use them on a carbureted engine fine I guess but I wouldn’t on a fuel injected engine. I have used the K&N air filter a few times in the past. The MAF sensor gets oily and gathers dust particles so needs cleaning and can affect engine performance through inaccurate MAF sensor readings.

Fair enough....that only happened to me once when I over-oiled the filter on my 2001 Nissan Maxima SE...that was totally my fault.

Red face

LS500Fan....as for the K & N air filter....I might have to eat crow so to speak....

A member of another Lexus club just sent me this... And quite frankly, I am shocked!

I gave my car a good detail today and finished it off with Jay Leno’s radiant ceramic sealant 😁

while I haven’t tried Jay Leno radiant ceramic spray I have tried the turtle wax hybrid ceramic and it is fantastic. I watched several YouTube videos where they compared all types of ceramic spray sealant and the turtle wax outperformed all the big name expensive guys.

Thanks. I only paid $20 for Jay Leno’s. I like the shine with the radiant but it leaks streaks like crazy. You’re constantly going over the same area trying to get rid of streaks. Did you have problems with streaking since you have a dark colored car like mine?

The turtle wax ceramic hybrid spray says to use two sprays on large panels like the hood and I found if you don’t overuse the product the streaking was very minimal. But I do also remember hitting it with a squirt of water and a dry microfiber to buff out any minimal streaking when I was done.

I may have had so much trouble because I was using plenty of sealant when I probably should have been using less. I also had only two towels, one to rub in and another to buff out. I think I’ll buy two more so I can use 2 for each side so they won’t get too wet with sealant and streak the car up. I’m glad I won’t have to do it again for another 3 to 4 months. You live in the DFW like me so you know how brutal these summers can get!

How many months is Leno sealant claim to be good for? I've used the Turtle Wax hybrid as well with good results.

Went to the dealership today and had my plates put on. I finally passed 1,000 miles on the way there. I’ve had my car since May 3rd.

Ouch! I don’t really rack up a bunch of miles because my job is less than 2 miles away and I don’t drive far often.
