Installed my front and rear dash cams. When you start peeling away interior panels, you realize why these cars are so quiet. They do a really nice job with the insulation/sound deadening.
Does yours have automatic rear shade?
I am not sure where to install mine as there is not enough space in the middle top section of the rear window to stick the rear dash cam.
Where abouts did you place the cam at the front?

My car does not have the rear sun shade, but I wish it did.
Here's where I ended up with camera placement...
Why did you have to pull all those trims out?
Doesn't the rear camera directly connect to the front cam?
Can you run the wire underneath the headliner? Or is this is a seperate dash cam for the rear?
I have a little space on the left and right hand side but the footage will probably look crap if i do decide to install on either side..

Oh wow...I see the issue with the sun shade. Yikes.
The system I have has the rear camera plugging in directly to the front camera. I wired the front camera straight to the fusebox and then had to remove all those panels to run the rear camera cable down the passenger side of the car. I didn't see any easy way to run the cable up in the headliner. Everything probably took a couple of hours and a couple of beers.
Why did you install the dashcam on the driver's side?
I think I will try the passenger side behind the rearview mirror.
Oh, I don't really know haha. I kinda like being able to see the screen I guess. This particular camera is too big to tuck up underneath the rear view mirror or anything like that, so it was either there or in the exact same spot on the other side. I suppose I could move it to the passenger side later on if I want to.
There's sleeker cameras out there. A screen is unnecessary. A screen can also attract thieves. Front and rear camera is nice. Side is good too though. but front and back are better than nothing.
After now having a total of 10 cameras on my car, i can't go back to any lesser #.
I have 4 existing cameras.
I don't know why Lexus doesn't sell a recording module which can tap into these existing cameras to record it just like in Teslas...So that we don't have to deal with all this nonsense of tapping into to fuse box and pulling half the car apart.
Plus, I don't know where to install the rear camera as mine has a factory rear shade...

Thankfully, my camera is not visible from the outside. I had the windows tinted last week - 15% rear, 30% front doors, and 70% on the windshield.
