Default Es350 roll backward on steep hill

Please help. I have a lexus es350 2015. My vehicle is rolling backward when I move my feet from the brake to accelerate on steep hill. Is it happened to everyone? I called lexus dealer and they said it is normal.
Thank you.

No., Mine does not do that. Matter of fact, the first time I was on a steep hill and removed my foot, I was so impressed. Couldn't do that with my old Camry.

And BTW, this is includes the up and down streets in San Francisco.

I did notice the Auto-Break hold was not able to hold on a steep hill so keep that in mind.

It's not abnormal on a steep hill and it creates no damage to the transmission. Here's an explanation:

@gacon , since you have a 6th generation ES, you don't have the "Brake Hold" function but you should have "Hill Start Assist." Other owners of 2015 ES hybrids have confirmed their vehicles have it and our 2015 GS 350 has it as well, so I'd imagine your 2015 ES 350 would also have it. Try this:

After you come to a stop on a hill, press the brake pedal hard down to the floor as far as it will go. You should see a light in the instrument cluster start flashing. This should give you a couple seconds to move from the brake to the gas without the vehicle rolling back. This is the "Hill Start Assist" function.

@Steve300h , I've noticed with "Brake Hold" on my 2018 GS that when the feature is active & you come to a stop and the "HOLD" indicator lights up, indicating the brakes are now being held, it seems to hold the brakes at whatever pressure you had on the pedal. So on a steep hill, after the "HOLD" indicator lights up, press the brake pedal down a bit harder/further to give the system more pressure to hold the brakes with and see if it's now able to hold the vehicle, even on steep hills. It should be able to.

My apologies, I did not notice that you were referring to the 2015. This sub-forum is for the 7th Gen starting in 2019.
