The KY plant has been producing Lexus ES300h hybrids for some time now (since May I believe). VIN starts with 58 instead of a J. Strangely, I found many more from KY in other states than I could in KY cities (Lexington, Louisville). I wanted to support the state of KY (I live here) but couldn't find what I wanted made in KY so I went with a Japan model.

(Note: The Georgetown KY plant will start producing RAV 4 hybrids in January of 2020).

Yup. Note my post you quoted was posted back in April, so it jives with your May timeframe.

It couldn't have been much earlier than May. My ES 300h was built in early March and it was built in Japan.

My apologies. For some reason, I thought this was a new thread and didn't notice the dates. Sorry about that.

As for the subject at hand, are the eCVT's more or less harsh on the transmission fluid (if you can call it that) vs a regular automatic transmission? Have wondered that for some time. Seems it would be less harsh....just a guess though.

No need for apologies, but thanks.
