Anyone knows if this is coming to the USA for Lexus?

I'm due to return my lease (first Lexus, a 2015 IS250 FSport) this April and they have started contacting me about early termination. I'm desperate for better mileage and more interior space (2 kids later), but also Android Auto. A 2019 ES hybrid would be perfect, but I'm so hung on no official announcement for US market to upgrade and add AA support. GAH! Still have time, but am waiting with baited breath. Do the right thing 'Yota!

No official announcement, no verifiable information, no dealer information, NO ONE KNOWS for the 2019 U.S. models... An announcement in Espana and now Australia... Hello Lexus!
What about the U.S.A.?

The most painful part of reading this is the $199 cost for the Australian market.
This is most likely a file you could download onto a USB stick from a Toyota/Lexus website and plug into the USB connection by the cup holders and run yourself. All of us that had 2015 and early 2016 Hyundai Genesis sedans had to do this to get Android Auto on our cars. It wasn't rocket science, and even "I'm not a computer person" people who can follow a recipe to bake a pie, could follow the instructions to do it on Hyundai cars.
Toyota/Lexus probably feels they must cater to the Baby Boomer customer base who have decided before the instructions even come out that they can't possibly manage this upgrade themselves.

You think USA has it bad? Welcome to Canada, we dont even have remote start through APP on the 2019, and no ML unless u go for the full UL package. So ridiculous, and shafted every time, on everything

I don't understand why there is such a difference between the models we get in America and the ones you get in Canada. Why features are unavailable, rules for ordering different levels, shorter oil change intervals, and on and on. The only difference I see is miles vs. kilometers...

![Question](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Has anyone heard recent news on whether it will be possible to add Android Auto to a 2019 ES 350, in particular one with the Mark Levinson sound package with Navigation?
Any information you have will be greatly appreciated!

No. There is no official information available regarding whether Lexus will install it in 2019 ES U.S. models... Only rumors and hearsay... There may be an after market setup available in the near future.

I think it's a small price to pay in order to have access to that service. If Lexus started charging for Carplay just like BMW already does I know for a fact I would pay that fee.

LEXUS AUSTRALIA
Lexus has rolled out Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across its line-up, but existing owners haven't been left in the cold.
The ES mid-sized sedan and RX SUV were the first two models to get the technology in October, while the mid-sized NX SUV, range-topping LS sedan, and the RC and LC coupe line-ups have been outfitted with the system since November 1.
Finally, all UX SUVs sold from December 1 onwards will have the technology. The BMW 3 Series-rivalling IS sedan misses out though, for now.
Owners of the following models are eligible to have the technology retrofitted to their cars – it costs $249, and the work takes around an hour to complete:
