Hi guys,
they say that the gas tank is 15.9 gallons capacity but with the tank almost completely empty at the gas station, it fills up with 12-13 gallons. Does that mean there is still about 3-4 gallons in reserve even though the indicator says the tank is almost empty?
Thanks

Yes correct. When my low fuel light comes on, mine takes about 12.8 gallons. So there is about 3 gallons left. What I don't know is whether the fuel system can drain the tank to zero gallons.Of course, as posted previously, it is probably not good to try this since there is a possibility of causing damage.I would prefer a larger tank. The mpg seems good. But my LS 430 had a range of about 540 miles. I am spoiled.

Most cars are designed this way. The mfr doesnt want you to run out of fuel so the gauge hits E with plenty in reserve.

Range indicated low fuel and 4 miles remaining. Filled up as full as possible with 15 gallons even. So at near 0 miles range I figure I had a gallon and maybe 30 miles left until really out of gas.

I guess it depends which BMWs you're talking about. My son in law has an M4 and I don't think my ES is keeping up with him upon launch.

Unless you have modified your vehicle then I highly doubt you're beating any new cars out on the road other than hybrids of course... LOL. My gf has a 2019 Accord touring 2.0t and she easily pulls away during a 1/4 mile run. The F-sport has a difficult time putting the power to the wheels without wheel spin at WOT. But at least I find solace in the fact that my car looks sexier than her Accord.

OK guys, I too had a BMW. An M3, which seemed like a race car. And yes the ES is not as fast as some cars. But it does have good, smooth acceleration. And I am really happy with the styling. So I look good and feel good in my ES. That works for me.

I'm getting about 21 MPG with my ES 350 Sport. The range on the display is 290 miles after I fill it. My 2007 LS460L had a range of about 390 miles, but it held 10 gallons more. It would be nice if the ES had a longer range so I didn't have to fill it more often.
