I haven't tried changing from ECO to either of the other selections but it probably just changes the computer controlled shift points. I'll check it out.
I'm not a fan of the 8 speed tranny in my 2019, much prefer the 6 speed in gen 6 Lexus cars...

Mine has been set on ECO since I got it in December of 2018... Never tried changing it and I actually forgot about it...

For comfort, obviously. I use that most of the time since I have a heavy foot. I tested all 3 modes expensively when I first purchased the vehicle and found that Eco was my favorite mode since it accelerates very smoothly. Why would anyone want to drive like a maniac in a Lexus? LOL

The sport mode is fun but I have the Camaro which gives me all the thrills I need.

Same for me and I have the Vette for zipping around town... Man, those new Camaros are really nice...

I just wish there was a way to have it default to SPORT. At this point and by force of habit, I immediately hit the Frankenstein **** to SPORT the moment I start out. Nothing to do with drag racing - it just drives so much better IMO. And I prefer the graphics on the FSpport cluster that way as well

Drive Mode "ECO" should be thought of as "Active Eco", you Act to twist the **** and the car Acts differently.
Everything that uses power, uses less. Less A/C, less acceleration, less responsive cruise control.
Will stay on indefinitely until you positively press the **** down to return to Normal.

Drive Mode "Sport" changes the throttle and transmission mapping to provide the positive drive experience
many Club Lexus participants enjoy. I have read that if the cars could enter the EPA Fuel Economy test
cycles with Sport defaulted On then they would be tested that way...would not want those numbers on the sticker!

It's done in the vehicle settings on dash or head unit

I notice the car in Eco mode would start to accelerate then pull power leaving it lacking in traffic. Creating a wave effect...Power, No Power

I go straight to SPORT on the '19 because our experience in our former '16 was that the car sucked in ECO and NORMAL modes

So once you set to ECO, it stays there at every engine start?? Unlike SPORT?

I guess that your car is set differently. The ES 350 (at least mine) stays on ECO all the time. I've actually never even touched it. Been on ECO since I picked up the car last December...
I intend to check out the other drive modes though... Fuel usage isn't an issue due to the amount of driving I do... 2314 miles and will be a year December 5th....LOL
