Question Mark Levinson Wattage confusion.

Am just about to sign on the dotted line on a CPO-showroom demo 2019 ES350UL with ML system.

On researching the car came upon the ML website which states two power outputs for the same ML system on the ES. The main landing photo shows 1800W and the then the descriptive picture says 835W.

So which is it? Wanted to know your take on the same.

Have a look at the Amplifier description.
Another interesting titbit is that the flagship LC500 only has 915W.

I don't know the answer to your question but I would take car stereo wattage claims with a grain of salt. Unlike home stereo equipment, I have serious concerns about the accuracy of these claims!

I totally agree.

In my subjective option, the 7ES ML is substantially better than the ML systems in the 6ES, GS, and LS vehicles that I've owned. It won't rock the house, but the clarity is phenomenal.

I noticed this and another discrepancy on that webpage about 5 months ago and posted about it. Search this forum for "1800" and look at the 4th posting on the list and the discussion that follows.

The bottom line is that it's a nonissue for all the reasons stated above.

I think they just didn't update the website. The previous generation had that much power, the new generation is 1800 watts. The LS and ES and the first two to get the higher power ratings which explains the LC being lower.

The Mark Levinson system is substantially better than the stock "Premium" system and is well worth the difference of cost. As stated above, wattage ratings between any two audio systems cannot be compared one against the other because there are so many variables at hand.

Not a number I would be concerned with. Get the one ML if you think it's worth it

My assumption is that both figures are correct. 835 watts RMS, 1800 watts max. Great marketing tools to fool people that don't know any better.
