Hello,

I noticed that on my 2019 ES350 the rear defogger works on about 4/5ths of the window. The top portion however remains fogged up, despite the presence of what looks like heating element wires. There is an obvious gap between the top section of the wires and the larger bottom section. Is that top section supposed to work as well?

 

I believe the top section is not a heating element, but rather the FM radio antenna. At least that's how it is in my GS.

 

I noticed this as well on mine and figured it was the FM antenna.

 

That was the conclusion with the 6th generation of ES as well. The “shark fin” type antenna is only for satellite radio reception and that “diversity” antenna in the rear window is for AM/FM reception.
