So,

I was putting my plates on and the head of the screw snapped off and and now I can’t get the bolt out. Anyone have any suggestions on how to remove this thing?

A small vice grip should let you unwind it.

You will probably have some burning forearms when you're done

If your making a trip to the hardware store, you could also buy some stainless steel screws/bolts so that you don't get rust in the holes, and running down the plates.....

How much did you tighten the screws?

Or plastic screws.

Another old trick is to get two nuts, spin one on about a third of the way, then spin another one on until it tightens against the first one. Then use an open end wrench on the inner nut to turn it off. GOOD LUCK!

Well, I got the bolt out and had to drill it thru. Now I need to re-thread the whole. Anyone have any tips or tricks to get this done?

I would see if I could find one of those "push to lock" plastic pins that cars are using everywhere to hold panels in place. Only other way to sort it is to get a metal "tap" and rethread the hole and use the appropriate bolt (appropriately sealed to prevent rust) to screw the plate in place. I guess which way you went would be a function of how nervous you might be about getting your plate stolen.

plastic clips sound like a good idea. I'm not sure but there may be enough metal to cut a 1/4-20 or 1/4-28 thread with a tap.

Just wonder why you decided to replace shock absorbers. How many miles on your NX?
Back then, I had to replace shocks on my old RX350 with about 130K miles on odometer. I replaced OEM-s with non-OEM-s and the car never drove/handled the same. I swore off non-OEM shocks from this experience forward.
