I have searched high and low, and NOTHING is out there to my knowledge. I purchased my ES300h last July and every month or so I make my calls. Even U-haul referred me their national number and they don't have anything produced.

Just curious but how long as the ES300h been on the market? I was hoping the UX 250h would have a hitch available once the model has been around for a while.

The first year for a hybrid version of the Lexus ES was the 2013 model year. I'm not sure what bearing that would have on a hitch mounting point however. The ES 350 would have the same shape/architecture for mounting a hitch or trunk rack.

I don't know very much about getting a hitch for a car but the last time I spoke to Curt Hitch they told me that my car did not have enough demand for a hitch. They implied that after the car has been out on the market, more people may want a hitch and that would result in a company fitting the car model with a hitch. But, I really don't know enough about this business.

I see your point. From a hitch manufacturer's perspective, they would just be looking at the ES in general rather than a specific variation, unless a model difference drastically alters the mounting points. In this case, this model ES was new in 2019 so that is the date you are probably looking for.

I crawled under the ES and compared what I saw to hitch installs on the current Camry and Avalon. Looked damn close so I ordered one up. Check out the thread here.

I happened to see a new body style ES350 at a bike shop today with a bike rack on the back of the vehicle. It looks ugly and inconvenient for a bike rack. This cat was not meant for a bike rack. You need to get an SUV if you want a bike rack.

Or an Avalon, for which Curt has a bolt-up hitch.

There's another thread on this board where an ES owner successfully installed a bolt-up hitch, made for the Avalon, and a wiring harness. The two are structurally similar enough that he was able to complete the installation by hacksawing a little and losing the rear performance damper (the latter's not a factor if you have a base or Premium Package car).

The other option I'm aware of, also described on a recent thread in this forum, is a bike rack that mounts to the trunk lid and rests on the rear bumper, but it risks denting your trunk lid and messing up your paint where the rubber feet contact the car.

So, it sounds like there needs to be one made specifically for the UX. Does anyone local to So Cal wants to let us use one for a day to build one?
