Depressing, as I still get compliments on the looks of my car and had people telling me they wanted to buy it just prior to the pandemic.
KBB values are always overstated. Fiction.

CarGurus showing similar cars (Type S but no A-Spec package like I have) with around the same mileage as mine (actually more miles; some by quite a bit) with asking price of $9-10k and show as Fair Deal ($xxx below), but most look to be dealers. Been seeing videos on YouTube lately saying that used car prices are going into the dumpster due to having way too many cars piled up at auction lots. Not sure if the smart move is to try and force the Lexus dealer to take my car on trade in as a contingency for buying one of their new cars, or to keep two cars until the market gets better for used cars.

For reference, I helped my SIL with a 2020 ES350 on 2/29 from a dealer in Atlanta. MSRP of $47,080 and adjusted price of $38,314. Got $2,000 for her beat up (front bumper damage) 09' Accord with 200k miles. Ended up at $39,500 OTD after taxes and licensing.
How did you pull such a good deal? Several dealers in my area seem set at or very near MSRP

If you look at post #16, I'm getting offered 18.7% off MSRP when you factor in the $2.5k rebate. I'm looking for a particular color combo with certain things, so I'm having to wait it out for now. It’s really just reaching out to as many dealerships as possible. I've now reached out to 6 Lexus dealerships. They typically have some sort of E-Price button on a car listing (might have to click on it to get the more detailed page to come up). I then fill out the name, e-mail address, and comment section. Don’t give them your phone number, because if you try to haggle over the phone they control the conversation and can sense things from the tone of your voice. In the comment section I ask them for their best price, and make them aware that I’m comparing prices with multiple dealerships. If you get a decent discount over e-mail you then reply to the e-mail and counter with a lower number. Typically they don’t come down much (less than $1k) from their initial offer. If you’re satisfied after that, then call them to try and finalize things. You’ll learn that some salesmen really suck at their jobs and their initial offer is only a few thousand off. Those guys are a waste of your time. Just move on to another dealership. I’m by no means an expert, as this is my first time buying a new car (just turned 50, and I've always bought used cars under $30k). Just sharing with you my experience doing all of this. Good luck!
