Hey all, I am in the same boat as the OP, but am still in the initial phases and am trying to haggle pricing. The salesman hasn't given in price wise as of yet in our discussion via email. Any tips? Any realistic targets of MSRP for the sport model, especially given the current health crisis. I appreciate the input

So, I got a quote from one dealer in NorCal. The price Out the Door plus all taxes, doc fees, etc: $51,585. (I am using .9% for 60 month)
What you guys think? I think it's still too high and I also did asked him "Is that the best he can do, he said YES." So, probably i'll pass and looking at another dealers.

Tell the dealer thanks, but no thanks. Provide him with the number you need to make a deal and then walk if he can't complete. The buyer is in the 'driver' seat right now with the current economic situation.

I agree. I've been receiving emails from Lexus dealerships in Tennessee and Atlanta that I've bought from (including individual salespersons) who seem desperate for business. I've spoken to a few who confirm this. But they're hoping that once the states lift their safe-at-home orders that there will be a deluge.

Pre pandemic I got my wife's 2020 es350 f-sport for 13.8% off msrp before rebates. The rebates then were $2500 lexus cash and I also qualified for $1000 loyalty cash. With rebates it was roughly 20.6% off msrp.
Exactly $45k OTD with msrp being $51,005. It was kind of a stroke of luck as we were initially there to look at a used 2019 f-sport; I've had no communication with this dealership prior. All of my previous vehicle purchases were done thru email negotiations.

If I were you I'd aim for 14-16% off msrp before any incentives.
Avoid questions like "is that your best offer?" Instead give them your firm offer and thank them if they can't do it.

A bit of advice before proceeding any further - do your homework. You're spending around $50000 son it is best to know exactly what you're getting for the money.

Putting the bits of information you mentioned in your postings together, the details of the ES F-Sports you were looking at weren't very difficult to find for Dealer A NEW 2020 LEXUS ES 350 and Dealer B 2020 LEXUS ES 350 F SPORT. If you scroll down on each of those web pages you'll find respectively Vehicle Details and Equipment Details. While Dealer A's details are more detailed and informative than Dealer B's, you can still determine the significant differences between the two vehicles and some reasoning behind the price differences. A quick look shows three additional options on Dealer A's ES F-Sport than Dealer B's - ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION $750, 10.2" HEAD-UP DISPLAY (HUD)$500, and Mark Levinson Audio (difference of $1080 above bare Navigation package) - and that's where the major difference in base car pricing comes from.

If you don't know what those options are and whether you want them for your desired vehicle, again do your homework. While it isn't completely regret free, you'll have a lot fewer regrets if you know all the options/packages/features you can get on a ES F-Sport and then make an informed decision as to what you want to have/must have in your new ES F-Sport.

As to Dealer B, don't deal with that bozo. The price quoted was just the MSRP sticker price and didn't even mention the dealer's web page's cited $2751 Dealer Discount. (There's currently a Lexus $2500 Lexus Cash promotion on the ES F-Sport which this dealer conveniently doesn't mention at all so that dealer discount isn't much of a discount by the dealer.) Whoever you're dealing with there has no interest in selling vehicles and should make you wonder what kind of treatment you would get from them AFTER they get your money if you decide to purchase from them.

As to Dealer A's offer, it appears like an "honest" attempt at a valid initial sales quote. While it isn't the greatest, at least it shows the dealer is interested in trying to make a deal.

Also, since your buying in California, you can get a close idea of what the state and local taxes and fees will be with the Vehicle Registration Fee Calculator at the California DMV web site.

Asked one of the dealer for OTD price + all taxes and fees for 47K. He said "NO" can't do it.

Got two more dealers to negotiate.

When you say, "Got them to give me 18.7% ($9,775) off MSRP including the $2.5k rebate." Does this mean you got $9,775 plus a $2.5k rebate (total of $12,275) or the $2.5k rebate is included in the $9,775 discount?

MSRP of $52,275 with a discount off the top of $7,275, plus another $2.5k off with the rebate ($9,775/$52,275 = 18.7%).

My 2020 ES350 F-Sport had an MSRP of $53,785. After getting a buying service (USAA) discount and with the $1,500 incentive along with $1,000 loyalty and $1,000 for military, my final price was $45,910 plus $495 documentation, $32.15 fees and tax. The catch for the incentive and loyalty is having to use LFS at their standard rate of 5.99%. If you want to finance for the full 60 months it will cost you far less to take the 0.99% and pass on the incentive. I took the incentives and paid off the note after two payments. At the very least, you can find a lender with a much lower rate and refinance after a couple payments and take the incentive and initially finance through LFS.

I am in talk with 3 dealers and all of them gave me the price OTD included all taxes and fees is $51k - $52k with .9%
I'm trying to talk with them to lower but seems like they're not interested to do so.

I am in Norcal, I have contacted with Lexus Sacramento, Roseville and Concord but no luck.
