I've attached 3 images, I took 3 different images as distance for you all to see. I can't even read the text on all 3 of them.
Let me just start by saying that it might be a good idea to move this discussion off to its own thread rather than hijacking the "I am buying new 2020 ES 350 F Sport" thread? It will ultimately make it better for anyone in the future that is searching for this kind of question as they are unlikely to look for it in a thread of this title. It also sounds like there is enough meat for a meaningful discussion as numerous people have noticed differences. I would start a thread with a title like "Image quality of 2019 and 2020 backup cameras questioned" and repost your question with these photos perhaps? It would also help some of us feel less guilty about taking this discussion off in a different direction than the OP intended...
Anyway, it is tough to evaluate/compare our backup image since we have to also consider the image quality from the camera taking the photo of the screen as well as the resolution as posted to this site. Having said that, from viewing these photos, I would guess that my 2019 backup camera produces a sharper than the photos you provided. It is always possible they got a bad batch of cameras at one of their production facilities. My vehicle is a 300h and was produced at the Japan plant. It might be informational to see if there are any correlation between models or production locations? By the way, clean garage!
