Talking Sirius XM subscription

I received an invoice today from Sirius XM for my two radio subscriptions. It was for $225.89. I called and told them to cancel... Long story short, bill now $29.94 x 2 = $59.88 for 6 months.

You can even hold out for a better deal. Last September I got 12 months for $74.95.

I've had Sirius subscriptions for as little as $30 for 6 months.

For the last couple of years, however, I've realized that just about anything that I'd listen to on Sirius is available to be streamed at no cost via the Tune-In radio app. I can stream anytime I'm in the car while using only about 2-3 GBs of data per month, and I figure that, as long as I'm paying for phone data, I'd rather use that for streaming than to pay for an extra Sirius subscription.

I've paid no more the $60/year (plus taxes/fees) for the past three or four years. They advertise $5/month for 12 months all the time via email. You just have to call and ask for it when your subscription is about to expire. In order to get this rate you have to have your CC # on file with them. You don't want to wait to be auto-billed otherwise you'll pay the rack rate.

My theory about Sirius XM, is that the longer you are on the phone with them, the better the deal that they might find for you. Telling them you want to cancel is definitely the only way to start the conversation.

Just curious, are the prices people are getting before the taxes and royalty fees are added? I go with the All Access and that also includes one app or online sign-on too.

The US music royalty fee is about $40/yr per subscription, and generally non-negotiable.

The last three vehicles I have renewed, starting last August, were for $60 per year, plus $12.84 Royalty Fee for $72.84 total.

I guess I have to improve my arm wrestling skills. Ive been settling for a few bucks more than that. I just hate the games you're forced to play with them.

I'm with you Mike but hate to give in to the higher price knowing others get it for less...

I used to have four subscriptions, one boom box, one home unit wired to the audio system, and two car subscriptions. Back then it ran over $500 a year.

Now I've got two car subs, the ES at $125/yr and the new NX with 3 free months. They've already solicited me to add the NX also for $125/yr. I told them forget it. I will call and negotiate when the NX comes near the end of the trial.

What else do I have to do lately? ugh

In a way, I agree with you but an additional $10 or $20 just isn't worth several more minutes on the phone with them. Also knowing I don't have to deal with them for another 12 months is my victory😁

NX F Sport, 2.0L is peppy and the 6 speed trans responds smoothly. It was one of the few F Sports at the Naples FL dealership that had triple beam lights, 10.3 screen, kick rear, etc.

Very happy with it so far. We had a local (reliable) tint shop do window tint and film on the full hood, full fenders and mirrors.

ETA: I didn't realize Premium fuel is recommended on the Turbo 16 Valve.

Yes - my wife test drove the NX before deciding on the RX and the premium fuel requirement was a deciding factor in addition to the extra space.
