Never mind - I figured it out.

Does anyone know why CarPlay Google maps mirroring is not showing the blue line turn by turn guidance and not showing the upcoming turn except a brief next turn pop up at the bottom. How do I change that in settings so display mirrors google maps with full guidance. I have a 2020 ES350. Thanks

My guess is that you are not viewing Google Maps, but are viewing some other app. If so, you need to click on the app selector in the lower left corner of the CarPlay screen. If the Google Maps icon is not showing you need to scroll to the right until it appears and select it. Then you'll see the map view..

very frustrating. I’m having the same issue with a 2023 IS 500. You have to wait until a turn prompt pops up and click it. Then blue line appears

Im on day 3 of my new 2023 ES. I have Nav with 3 years free trial of the cloud based nav, but do people prefer to just use Waze or Google maps via Car Play?

so far, a couple routes that the Lexus Nav suggested seemed really weird. When I pulled up Waze via car play, the route made more sense and was faster
Should I just stick to waze via Car play and skip using Nav if accurate traffic conditions are important to to me?

If you want accurate consistent navigation I don't think any factory navigation can do that. I asked how the new system was working for navigation on the NX thread several months ago as the NX has had it awhile and they said better but still not near as good as google maps or waze.
