I'm hoping with a light interior it won't be too bright... can also do 20% on rear sides to mitigate that..

your 40% looks great but a tad too light for me. i also want to avoid too dark. not into the gangster look.
They were very careful and my ES remained immaculate.

How long did it take? I kind of want to work in their waiting room but not sure if it's even allowed so I'll probably just uber to the office while they're working on it. not really ideal but my other choice is walking around the neighborhood for 3 hours

I have 35% CIR ceramic on the front/rear side windows and the rear windshield, and have been very happy with it. It'sa 19 ES 350 UL with Eminient White Pearl exterior with Chateau interior. It's on my winter wheels and tires for the season, and looks even better with the 18's it came with.

It doesn't always look quite this dark, especially from other angles. Plus it's pretty overcast today

^Yeah i was going to say that looks dark for 35 and light interior but it's overcast. thanks for sharing. are those infiniti wheels? I did see some nice stock premium wheels on a QX60 the other day and had thoughts about putting them on my car.

if so i assume they share the lug spacing 5x114.3 and ideally bore diameter and offset

Yup, they're off an Infiniti Q50, the base 17" wheels. I've had them for years, maybe 2016? this is actually the 3rd daily driver that these wheels have been on since then. I was driving a G37xS at the time, and had my winter tires on a cheap set of wheels from Tire Rack. A pot hole destroyed two of those rims. The tires were fine, it just turned out those wheels are just super soft; live and learn I suppose. So I started looking for an OE-spec wheel figuring they'd hopefully be tougher. Bought these with less than 50 miles on them from someone who put aftermarket wheels on their Q50 right away. They are 5x114.3 but the center bore is larger than the hub on the 19 ES so you would need to make/buy an insert. I'm less familiar with the specifics of the QX60, it's possible their wheels could work.

It's all good. The bore being bigger is not a deal and no inserts required. nice, but not required. they do nothing but help installation. ( i went thru the song and dance researching the engineering details)

may have to check some infiniti wheels out. I wonder if the center caps match size wise.

anyway i got the car tinted. 30% Llumar ATC. will take pics this weekend.

Here's my contribution. 30% Llumar ATC all the way around. Windshield stock, no tint.

Here's with my light interior in shade and in sun.

Any other angles needed, let me know.

The shop left a defect on the front driver's glass, some hair/debris under the tint and a few other pieces of dirt. Also the laser plotter used didn't score the film very well resulting in a jagged edge towards the top in one spot when the installer tore the film away. The shop said they'd re-do it free of charge which is great, however it's time-consuming and I really don't have time to have down time and wait around. So I'm postponing it for now. The passenger side window in front has tiny dust under the film as well but very very minor. all the other windows look good. Overall i'm happy. I know tinting is a very challenging thing to do since I used to do car tinting for fun, but that's why i wanted to pay a shop this time around to treat myself.

Default Looking to tint my ES 350 F sport

Do you guys think ceramic IR tint is worth the price over regular tint?

I have Xpel XR tint on my car and I can definitely tell a difference between that and the Llumar I used to use that wasn't ceramic.

Don't have a ES, but on my 2018 Camry the difference is definitely noticeable. 100% worth it.

The regular tint is really only for looks.

Cheap regular tint:

Ceramic:

Depends on what your goals are. Automotive grade glass already has inherent UV-rejecting properties in it. For decades now.

I tinted my ES DIY for $27 in materials. Looks great. However I'm getting annoyed at the look (only 35%) and may peel it off this weekend for that ultra pure premium adult classy look. Whenever I see another 7ES without tint, I get jealous. It just looks so premium and adult with clear factory windows.

If your car is parked in the sun and you live in a hot area I think the ceramic tint is worth the price. If you’re working from home and it sits in the garage and you hardly ever venture out or you don’t live in a hot area the ceramic is probably not worth the extra price. My car came tinted from the dealer so I didn’t get the option but I work at home so it’s not that big of a deal.

If you are going to tint, then ceramic tint is the way to go. As with everything, there are multiple brands and a lot of installers; and not all of them are made queal. Make sure you go to a good installer and install a film by a good brand (Xpel, LLumar etc.)
It should run you in the $300-$450 range depending on installer and location

I am considering going 35% or 50%. I am beginning to agree with my wife because the lighter tint or naked windows does look good.

On our car, (non Lexus in this case) I split the difference and have 40% on all windows except the windshield. It does a nice job with heat rejection and glare and gives the car a nice toned down look without the blacked out look
