I asked the dealer who they use for tint, and they recommended Prestige Window Tinting in Lynnwood, WA. They've been in business 18 years, and they handle lots of Lexus vehicles. I wanted a legal tint, so they used LLumar IRX 25 ceramic. My main concern with a black interior was heat and infra-red rejection. Total Solar Energy Rejection is 58% per the spec sheet. Very pleased with the result.

BTW, I was disappointed that they wouldn't touch the moonroof, but the shop owner had previous horror stories of stained headliners, so I skipped it. Good thing I live in the Great Northwest, where temps rarely exceed 90F. Anybody else tint their moonroof?

I’ve had most of my cars with ceramic tint in the past and yes, it does block heat better than dyed or carbon tint (I don’t think metalized tint is done much these days). But ceramic tint has a “look” I don’t love, it’s sort of has a hazy reflection when viewed from outside and the surface of the glass reflects more light back making the glass more visible. Carbon tint has less reflectivity (hey it absorbs rather than disperses and reflects which ceramic does which is why it’s better at rejecting heat).

anyhow I went with carbon 35 this time and am happy. Parked next to our other white car with ceramic you can see the difference, I’ll try to get a photo. Here’s the 35 carbon:

Man, that looks sharp. I'm curious, what does something like that cost?
