Plastic multi-piece headlight enclosures that are merely glued together. Its a shame but pretty much every modern model experiences some of these failures. Our 2004 RX experienced this leaky headlight issue and the replacement cost was scary. The car was about 7 years old at the time but it only had about 20K miles on it. The dealer submitted it to Lexus corporate and they did a goodwill on the parts and we only had to pay for the labor. That was with an older and much simpler headlight, but the car was quite a bit older at the time. Just be polite and respectful and see what they say. If you are still on warranty I can't imagine they would deny this repair - but be prepared to take it up to Lexus corporate if the dealer denies the claim.
Should be an easy warranty claim. No need to get too worked up.
I've personally torn down many head lights over two decades, probably just a gap in the sealant coverage. It still shouldn't happen though but occasionally it will.
Dropped off my vehicle yesterday and received a call today stating the headlight assembly has been ordered (under warranty). It should arrive tomorrow and hopefully, the vehicle will be ready for pick up Saturday, all is good with the world.
Nice to know that Lexus owned up to the defective HL enclosure. This is a warranty issue and always was a warranty issue as the part is defective... Not merely cosmetic and no way moisture should enter a sealed HL. Happy that you prevailed Kalel...
I just bought my first Lexus, 2019 ES350 F-sport, mid-September. This happened 3 weeks ago, $8k to replace. The dealer took pics, sent in for approval and Lexus came back and said the only way this could have happened was from an accident. They had me come back in to inspect paint levels. A body shop that does work for all dealers in town said it looked like the both bumpers have been replaced, so Lexus denied the claim. They were just going off a visual inspection. They weren’t able to take paint levels on bumper/hood because they are plastic/aluminum. The paint levels on the rest of the car were within specs. It was a lease return. It’s possible that something happened and they paid cash to avoid the mark on the carfax (it’s clean).
Both sides? I'd have to agree that there probably was previous damage to the front of the car. This is a prime example that shows not all damage to used vehicles is reported on Carfax. And 8 grand to replace? Too bad, that's a real bite in the a$$...

If mine ever fail out of warranty, I will never drive at night again
What is the warranty terms on our ES, I have no idea?
I want to look at extended warranty options, too many electronic stuff, you can't DIYmuch any more, I feel like car might die all of the sudden and whatever the dealer tell you you have to take it...
