Default Water streaks/condensation in headlights

Hi all,

I bought a new 19 model ES 350 F Sport, even though it had 715 miles on it when I bought it. I discovered that the headlights had water streaks inside of the headlights, and immediately called Lexus. (this was 4 days after discovering it and I only had 900 miles on it) They told me to bring it into a dealership for further review. Fast forward almost two months later, they told me that it's only a cosmetic issue and they will not replace the headlights. The headlights look terrible with the water streaks inside both of them, and they aren't willing to do anything about it. They told me its up to the general managers discretion at the Lexus dealership I brought it to. Anybody have any experience with this and is there anything more I can do??

So Lexus is saying water inside a headlight is acceptable? Damn, I'd call Lexus back and press them on this, never mind the fact water and electronics are not a good mix. And what about visibility, Lexus thinks water streaks won't affect the beam pattern? Just WTF all around.

The dealership needs to have a Lexus rep look at you headlamps, next time they are scheduled to be at the dealership.I think then he will authorize the work to be done. This is how most dealerships do it when it's cosmetic. I am assuming Lexus is the same.

There should be no moisture of any kind inside the headlight enclosure. No water streaks, condensation, or fog of any kind. Lexus owes you a new headlight...
Depending on what light you have, these assemblies can be as much as $2700.00 each...

Well Mike I felt the same way until I found a car with everything I wanted - and triples that I didn't want, then drove the car at night. I was sold... Glad I have them for these old eyes...

Amen. I love it on mine. Will be very expensive to replace. For every pro there is a con somewhere

Here is an attached picture of one of the headlights. The other one is not as bad.

These will only get worse and eventually cease to illuminate. They need to be replaced and they're slinging BS at you and hoping it will stick... I'm not sure if this can be incorporated into a lemon law violation due to safety i.e. insufficient light at night, but I'd investigate all options including notifying NHTSA if possible. What a bunch of crap. Shame on Lexus...
Cosmetic issue my a$$...
