Question 2020 ES 350 Seat Memory Settings

Took delivery one week ago. Driver Seat Memory not holding memory setting. Certainly this has a reset function without a take to dealer and spend hours waiting. Believed followed instructions correctly. Not 1st Lexus and never experienced this problem on the LS or previous ES. Please help this frustrated owner.

Thanks

It's fairly straight forward, the instructions are on page 108 on the manual.

2020 Lexus ES 350

1 Check that the shift lever is in P.
2 Turn the engine switch to IGNITION ON mode.
3 Adjust the driver’s seat, steering
wheel, outside rear view mirrors
and head-up display (if equipped)
to the desired positions.
4 While pressing the “SET” button, or
within 3 seconds after the “SET” button is pressed, press button “1”, “2” or “3” until the buzzer sounds. If the selected button has already been preset, the previously recorded position will be overwritten

You can also marry a fob to any of the three settings so when you enter with that fob, you're ready to roll.

I don't know if it still applies to the 2020 ES but for the 2019 ES LEXUS TSB #L-TT-0246-18 and the full NHTSA pdf Seat (Position Control) ECU Initialization describes a potential problem where the "the seat memory settings cannot be recorded" and the procedures to fix it by clearing and initializing the seat ECU.

AGAIN I SEND MY THANKS. I now convinced the seat memory not holding after several trials. I just printed the "NHTSA pdf Seat (Position Control) ECU Initialization" you sent. Did not have the time to follow thus procedure but will so do later and advise.

Truly appreciate the assistance and cooperation. If all this fails will go to dealer.

Thanks

I now recall another member had to visit the dealer to get this corrected.

It's very easy to tell if the seat needs initialization. If the seat keeps beeping going forward or backwards, it will need initializing.

Followed the instructions sent 2019 ES LEXUS TSB #L-TT-0246-18 with no success. Called dealer about frustration and told to bring car in. A quick test by dealer to show I correct lead to technician finding seat memory setting not activated. Pre-delivery verification not done thoroughly.

Appreciate your assistance. Thanks

I just took delivery of a 2020 ES 300h and have the same issue. The memory is not holding the mirror and seat positions.

Was the dealer able to fix yours? If yes, What did they have to do?

Very simple fix. Tech plugs in to capsule with computer to set seat memory. A matter of minutes. Once again poor predelivery inspection.
