Default Luxury package leather grade?

Hello folks,

I noticed the luxury package comes standard with leather trimmed interior. I talked with five dealers who cannot tell me what grade of leather it is

The ultra luxury package on the other hand has semi-analine leather interior and doesn’t say trimmed. I know what semi-analine leather is. My question is, what grade of leather does Lexus use on the Luxury package es350?

Please help!

Here's the press release:

https://s3-us-east-2.amazonaws.com/l...ions-FINAL.pdf

Standard: Perforated NuLuxe interior trim
Luxury: Standard leather interior trim
Ultra Luxury: Semi-Analine interior trim

So I think "trim" just means seats.

Really less than seats - just the surfaces that touch you.

Good to know. The big question is what grade of leather comes on the luxury package ES 3:50? There’s different grades of leather I’m just curious as to what grade Lexus uses.

Crappy and crappier? My ES has the Nuluxe and it wears much better than the leather in my wife's RX.

I think that the Nuluxe is nicer than the standard leather. Daughter got it on her NX and it's very durable and good looking. No leather smell...

Well yeah i'm sure the seat frames, cushions, electronics aren't made of pure leather as well.

On cars with the standard leather or the semi-aniline leather, it is just the "seating surfaces" that are made of leather. That means that the seat bottoms and seat backs are leather, and the sides of the seats and the back sides are not leather. The sides of the seats are NuLuxe, and the back sides are, depending on the vehicle, either NuLuxe or plastic.

Just to clarify, the Lexus NuLuxe is an excellent fake leather. I have the same material on my RAV4 Limited (Toyota calls it SofTex), and I really like it. However, my experience is that the nicest seating surfaces available on the ES are the semi-aniline leather that comes in UL cars. It just has the nicest feel to the touch of any of the options, and it is much softer than the standard leather that comes on the Luxury ES. It also seems less susceptible to developing creases and wrinkles.

There are no universally used "grades of leather". The standard leather is your run of the mill top painted and coated automotive leather. Its nothing special. The semi-aniline leather is much nicer.

^Yep I know how seats are made. I used to do customized upholstery, disassemble/modify seat frames, rebuild padding, etc.

I have decided to go with the ultra luxury package. Everyone here has been a big help and helping me decide and also educating me on the ES 350. I appreciate everyone’s input.

I couldn't get one in the northeast. I got a fully loaded luxury which is comparable except I don't have a panoramic sunroof, side window shades, or 360 degree backup camera.
