Default Front Plates

Spent lot of time ordering this one up to be as right as possible. Thought I’d show it off!

Body shop guy put it together and installed it to make sure it’d be as perfect as possible. All the print on plate just a tad too big for the frame but the best we could do. Have seen some others slapped on really hastily and imperfectly. Too beautiful a car for that.

I like the frame and like the plate since I've been to Marco Island and nearby Sanibel Island and both are really nice places for quick relaxing vacations. I live in Miami so they are relatively close.

Not a fan of front plates and am glad they are not required in Florida. I formally lived in NY where they are required and depending on the car, the mounting of the front plate always seemed to be an eyesore. Also, the front plate takes a beating from road debris.

That is my opinion about front plates, however, I do like your setup and front plates look okay on the ES. I would only suggest tossing those black bolts for something that blends better with the frame and more importantly, will deter some idiot from stealing the frame and/or the plate.

Couple suggestions....

Agree 100%. Moved from a state that required a front plate to currently a state that does not and it looks IMO so much better and cleaner. There are 19 states that do not require front plates. By the way love Marco and Sanibel islands.

Marco is our "second home." I still wouldn't add a "slogan plate" to the front of a Lexus grill. I have this frame on my rear plate. Two holes at the top, nice finish work, very durable and it comes with screw caps that add a nice touch. It's thinness allows all the words to be seen.

You're fortunate to reside in a state that doesn't require front tags such as Pennsylvania. Most owners that are required to mount front tags complain and some don't even put them on.
Why would you ruin the beauty of the grille with a fake plate?

Yes, you’re right about those black screws. My temporary body shop here on Marco, where we winter, did the install. When I return to PA in May, my regular guy there, (who is an real auto artist) will replace them with silver or find chrome caps that fit.
Thanks for your sincere and constructive comments. Sincerely appreciated.

I saw one like that when I shopped but I wanted the one that says LEXUS at the bottom.

when I retired 10 years ago, we began spending almost half year (winters) in Marco Island (FL). This snowbird’s real official plate now on the back of the Lexus, reads as follow:

My contribution to this thread - Im heading to Sanibel in a few weeks! Front plates here in NJ are required and don't bother me one bit even on my FSport grill😁

Hey Shaboom, Yes, I know Lexus of Pembroke Pines very well. Been buying and having my cars serviced by them for many years. There is a closer Lexus dealer to me in Miami but they are terrible.

I like your PA plate. Very clever.

FWIW, going on I'd say 12-15 years w/o front plate in California. I find if you drive reasonably and don't have obnoxious mufflers, obnoxious limo tint, cops generally will ignore your no-front-plate. In my younger days, my cars were loud, so I'd get no front plate tickets all the time. But since I started "Adulting" with nice tasteful cars, I haven't been bothered once. Knock on wood!
