The cost of trading for a new 350 ES makes trading an otherwise good one for a new one justifiable to me only if it’s a new version, probably 4 years from now, when I’ll trade my 2021 for a new one. Otherwise, just not enough of difference to me. Will it be about 4 years from now?

The transmission is the reason I may never own an ES again. In fact, I'm likely to dump mine for my wife's 2017 RX when she decides she wants something new.

I wonder if the 2022 8-speed transmission will be smoother downshifting so that it doesn't abruptly go to 1st or 2nd when you come out of a near stop turn (like a yield sign -- I always come to a full stop at a stop sign). When my 2019 F-Sport is slowed, it downshifts until it gets to 3rd and it does not go to 1st or 2nd until the car is almost stopped.
I'm going to assume the transmission will be untouched for 2022 unless Lexus is doing a silent repair to avoid admitting there’s an issue.
