10K Service coming up....
Hi Guys,
Should I skip the 10K service at dealer? I already make an appointment but wasn't sure if it necessary to do so, I'm a DIY guy and just doesn't feel like having them touch my car, I brought the car to dealer @ 5K service and wasn't happy with the service at all. I checked my camera footages and didn't see they performance any services that they stated to do. Somehow they scratches my bumper and oil everywhere on my steering wheel.
What should I do? bring to dealer or DIY at home?

First off, sounds like your service department sucks. I resist having them wash a car, but so far on 5 cars from 4 different dealers, I've never had bad service, especially where damage occurred. Granted it could happen, but I see fender protectors, mats and seat coverings on every car in every service bay.
As for the 10K service, the primary service they do (complimentary I believe) is an oil and filter change. If your DIY includes that, go for it. I changed oil and filters a few times years ago after a Chrysler dealer forgot to sufficiently tighten the oil plug on my Hemi, and I spent a week cleaning oil off the garage floor.
The only thing that I tell them when I bring our cars in to Lexus, is - doesn't need wipers and the battery on the fob is fine. They love to get you on the little things. Enjoy.

Yep to add, I always make sure they just do what Lexus recommends and not what the deanship recommends which is typically a joke and a cash grab. Like change transmission fluid every 5k, lol.
I'd say either it yourself (save those receipts for when you sell) or find a different Lexus shop.

Keep all your service records — no matter who does the service. This includes oil changes, tire rotations, belt replacement, new brake pads, and inspections. Create a file to keep track of repairs — it will come in handy if you have to use your warranty. If you ever have a warranty claim and it appears that you didn’t maintain your vehicle, your claim might be denied.

Precisely why no one touches my car but me if I can do it myself. I've even done Lexus alignments myself in my garage (and I have experience on Hunter racks as well)
But definitely DIY. It's easy. Visit the car care nut's youtube channel. He's a master toyota tech that encourages DIY.

I got mine from a Toyota dealer on eBay for my ES Hybrid with the A25A engine. Not sure if it's the same for V6.
Part # 90915-YZZN1.
The Car Care Nut personally told me this is the one to use. (there's other filters out there that technically fit but I feel best and safest using the correct one)

Same as Camry hybrid too. probably same as ES250 AWD. any toyota/lexus product with the a25a engine. just use the part # as i have above. it's the current replacement # for the stock filter (it changed since 2021 apparently) probably minor change.

So, I cancelled the appointment and just DIY. I just couldn't stand people at Lexus that touch my car, give the car to them in perfect shape, once pick it up there are scratches, or dents.

Good job. Just remember to do it safely. Ramps are your friend. And an extra jack at the lift point up front for extra stability/protection. Always use redundancy when you are under a car. parking brake set too and all that.
maybe when i do my break in oil change at 1,000 miles i'll document all this and do a write up.

Hey guys, anyone with the f-sport package (or non f-sport) do you guys have the "Scissor Jack" that came with the car? I believe mine come with it when I got the car and I saw it in my trunk. For some reason mine is missing when I need to use it yesterday and couldn't find anywhere. I brought the car to dealer at 5K service and from that time I forgot to check it. Maybe the tech guy use it but never put it back? I am still confuse, why are they using the Scissor Jack when they have a better one at the dealer?

I have the same jack on my 2019 ES300h. I just ran out and checked again and it is still there. The vehicle was recently went in for a low pressure fuel pump recall. If yours was missing as result of a dealership visit then don't go there anymore. It sounds like a shady one and to be avoided.
