I don't hear any noise either but can tell that the brake has engaged... In previous cars, when the trans was placed in "park" and you release the foot brake, the car would move slightly until the car settled into the park gear. This doesn't happen with the Lexus... Even on a hill due to the parking brake engaging.

No noise here either. I love this feature, both when it causes brake to engage and then later disengage. Seat goes up and back automatically. Wow, I’m really thrilled. Wonderful feature..

As to the parking brake, I leave it set on auto on both our ES and RX. I usually hear a very light clunk on the ES - but not always. I think it must depend on whether the car is sitting on an incline or not (our garage floor has a slight incline). But the red light always goes on once I place the vehicle in park. As to the RX, I don't believe I have ever heard the clunk. Both of these vehicles are hybrids - so I wonder if the transmission type makes a difference?

Some cars come with it enabled some disabled. Not sure if a person did it at the dealer or what. My first ES had auto parking brake enabled, second ES didn't. So I just had to play with the switch to reactivate it.
I like it and am spoiled by it. I like that the car is solid and doesn't rock around, plus reduces strain on the transaxle which is a plus.
To enable it to be auto i think you have to hold it down 3 seconds until it beeps at you. (or pull) forgot which lol.

Here's an odd one - to engage you have to push down. In the RX, it's the other way around - pull to engage and push down to release.

I have had my 2019 ES for about 2 months now and not sure if there is an issue with the electronic parking brake. Never had one before, but it seems kind of loud when it automatically applies itself. Is this normal? It’s not super load but you can definitely hear it from a distance (across the street for example).... Thanks!
Why do you say that? I don't hear any noise. Do you have a 350 or 300h? Have you talked to your dealer about it?

Are you sure your parking brake is engaging workout any noise?
I have a RX and an ES and both make the same noise when the parking brake automatically engages.
In my previous cars workout electric parking brake I always applied the parking brake for safety and also to reduce the strain on transmission. Now the car does it for me.
I love this feature.
