Trim for top of trunk
I've looked and stared at photos of the ES's trunk, and I finally figured out what was bothering me: the exposed sheetmetal on the top of the compartment under the rear shelf. Other high-line cars cover this up with trim, and this model surprisingly doesn't. I guess it's one of those subtle little cost cuts, like the increase in hard plastics inside.
Does anyone here know if that trim is offered on ES's in any foreign markets?

Inside the trunk beneath the rear window, you can see the exposed sheetmetal between the hinges in the area that adjoins the trunk springs and surrounds the trunk light. What I'm referencing is that Lexus did not provide cosmetic trim to conceal this area of bare metal and exposed hardware. Some luxury cars cover it.

Here's a better look, courtesy of the recent Savagegeese video.

Its not cost cutting but more of a weight reduction measures to eek out every ounce of gas mileage.

no lol it's for cost reasons. sure weight would theoretically be a side benefit but that part wouldn't weigh much to justify removing it.

If I discovered that ES's are being marketing elsewhere in the world with a part like that, I'd pay to get it.
