After filling up, my range is about 300 to 310 in the summer and about 280 to 290 in the winter. I do highway, city and suburban driving, but mostly suburban.
Sounds like some of you are real pro at hypermiling. I have been a lead foot driver all my life and this is my first hybrid. I took over a year to reform my old habits but best I can do is 39MPG combine. I am getting twice the MPG of previous ICE vehicle so I am not complaining. Just curious how some get such insane MPG. Some people even drive without AC to achieve great MPG and that's not me. I like my AC on all the time.
No AC? That's crazy talk. Plus I imagine the benefit is much lower with electric compressors. My wife and I are all about comfort so we won't compromise our comfort.to improve mileage. I would think it may have more to do with the type of driving, the length of the drives (cold starts use more fuel as they have to run the internal combustion engine to warm it up each time) and so on. I would suggest anyone getting between high 30s and mid 40s on the hybrid model is right where they should expect to be. We also drive with eco mode on all the time and this definitely doesn't work for everyone. There is no question that the "normal" mode is preferred, but we don't mind the minor compromises with the eco mode. Of course, the sport mode is always available if we are want something more spirited but it has a clear impact on fuel economy.
