15 years is a long time owning a vehicle. I couldn't see myself owning any vehicle for that long but now I could. Back then I was young for the typical ES demographic but now I am getting close heh. I got the ES as I am ready to "settle down" and figure I am in for the long haul with the Lexus. Not to say occasionally my eyes don't wander a bit but so far I am able to deal with my impulse better now that I have been around the block with owning various vehicles from several brands

I traded my 2015 Venza Limited V6 with 29000 miles because I had an ITCH for a Lexus ES 350

My 2019 ES will probably be the last car I buy. I hardly drive it and mostly use the boss's 2014 pristine Honda with 25k on the clock. Come summer, the Lexus gets parked and out comes the Corvette convertible - until it gets too hot and there's a need for A/C... All great cars but we don't drive any long distances, only go by air, and mostly across the pond from the right and left coasts... Furthest we go by car is down your way Ionian to Milford, DE. I wouldn't consider buying another brand if I bought another set of wheels...

Interesting. A few weeks ago my wife finally got the itch of getting into a new Venza. The old Venza and new Venza only share name and nothing more. The new Venza is hybrid only in the U.S.market. It is known as luxury RAV4. Incidentally my wife came out of the 2014 RAV4 she had since new. I am very impressed with new Venza.

I don’t blame you.
I got mine yesterday and it is the best car I have ever driven.

The Venza Hybrid is available in Canada. It's a beautiful SUV and I was very keen owning one however, the test drive changed my eagerness instantly simply because IMHO the new Venza is under powered.. I could not see myself going from a 268 HP 6 cylinder with lots of torque to a 4 banger that whines at every green light.

I agree. It is hard to avoid the lure of shiny new things though. My wife tells me this is now out of my system. Of course, she also said that before the last car but she was lured by updated safety systems…

Her 2014 RAV4 has 176 hp comparing to 219 hp on the Venza. So from that perspective it a nice bump. The MPG is almost double so there is that. She is very pleased with it so makes me happy.

I got the Fob to work, but I prefer the App's remote start. The distance on the Fob is maybe 30ft. The app has no limit. I can start the car from my desk, pack up to go home and the car is nice cool, or warm, as needed, when I get to the car. With the 30ft range on the fob I might as well just get in and start it.

I describe the fob start as "short distance (<'80), short time (< 5 sec.)"
and the phone app as "long distance (if you and the car have cell service...), long time (> 5 sec.)
When I'm close by and my phone is trapped under winter wear I just press on the fob in a pocket.
When I'm inside and phone's out I use the app, check the fuel level and start her up.
