Definitely not quieter. The ES is heavier (additional insulation) and has a V brace at the rear for added stiffness. Similar maybe, but Avalon is definitely not quieter.

The springs and dampers are roughly the same dimension wise, but the tuning is different. as to how different i don't know. It's possible the Lexus is tuned sportier due to the dynamic/sporty brand Lexus is trying to capture/instill in its lineup w/ their new test track in Japan where they develop the cars handling. But i am not sure about that.

The limited might ride a little better than the F sport likely due to taller sidewalls in the tires and softer suspension.

Have a look inside the cabin and decide if you really want to compare the two.

I've been seeing Avalons in the high 45xxxs (puke) and Camrys in the 38-39 range, also puke. My brethrens, decent cars, but not for no ES money...

Post this question on ToyotaNation and you’ll get a very different response.

I didn't even consider the Avalon for 2 reasons:
1. Oh my god that grille is ugly and HUGE.
2. It is discontinued this year.

ES for the win, my new ES300h should be here in March.

I must say the Avalon interior is really quite nice though!

Yeah the center stack on the Avalon is a deal breaker for me. Whoever designed that should be sent back to school. Even after all these years later it is still looking awful to me. I do like the sequential turn signals front and back on the limited. It is a shame ES still doesn't get it.

Is it done in such a way that it doesn't meet the U.S DOT regulations?
