Just got the good news that at 30,500 miles the OEM Michelins are showing the belts on the inside of the tire. For being such an expensive brand of tires, every experience with Michelins has been trash. My 2016 Genesis sedan also had Michelins that went fast.

Putting a set of Yokohama Avid Ascend LX's on it. I'll probably extend the least from the original May 2022 end date another 6 months, but I'll be damned if I'm putting another $230 a tire set of Michelin tires on this car.

I agree. Michelins disappointing in both our RX and ES. Replaced both with Goodyears.

I believe you, but I wouldn't judge the brand's afternarket tires by its OEM ones — and I say this as someone who just took delivery of a new ES and immediately spent money to strip the Michelins off of it.

Carmakers have a heavy hand in designing the characteristics of the OEM tires on their cars. They want gas mileage, dry-road ride comfort for the test drive, and they really don't care about much else. Michelin Primacys rate much higher than the Eco Crap tires that come standard on the ES in objective tests such as Consumer Reports and Tire Rack, and CrossClimates are universally praised as an extremely capable all-season rain and snow tire. I didn't buy the Michelins this time (they came in 2nd and 3rd in my search), but I recommend them without hesitation in the right situation.

Your 2022 ES 350 UL with 18 inch noise reduction wheels came with Michelins?

That's different from previous model years' ES 350 ULs with 18 inch noise reduction wheels - 2019s and as best I can tell 2020 & 2021 model years came with OEM Bridgestone Turanza EL440 235/60R18. According to Tirerack ratings not that great of a tire but that's what Lexus was putting on as special matched set tires for those model years.
