Is it roughly the same size and profile as the existing black trim piece that sits underneath the rear chrome strip? Is it a replacement for that part, or installed on top of it?

It replaces the chrome & black plastic pieces, that trunk piece is all one piece, the chrome & black on the factory part should be one piece.

After drooling over your Interior ambient light setup/work, I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this piece. As I said earlier, I wish that I lived closer because I'd hire you to do my lighting!

Yeah. I put the main box behind the left tail light and connected the white connector inline with the left taillight.
Based on the picture, it looks like you have the middle bar and the right light wired correctly to the box.

The wiring for the right light would go across your trunk after you remove the plastic piece.
You would run the wiring for the middle bar through the left trunk hinge.
You might need to remove the black plastic clip from the middle bar wire to fit it through the hole.

My wiring had a loose yellow wire that I needed to splice into the right taillight.
Yours looks like it came with a neat white connector - no need for splicing.
You probably just need to connect this white connector to the right taillight - similar to the left.

I'm not sure what that other white connector is for. Mine didn't have that.

The red wire is supposed to go to your battery or fuse box.
I didn't do this, but it seems optional.

I want this. But I’ll never install it myself.

Thanks for all the clarification and info, and the words on my pic. The middle extra wire goes to the reverse wire, as the LED bar flashes when in reverse. Apparently there are more than one version of this accessory, OR the one manufacturer made some tweaks to the design after the initial batch??

So did your left tail light have that double white connector plug-in harness? And you didn't have the other two?

That's right. I only had the white connector for the left side.
There was a loose yellow wire on the right bar that I had to manually splice into the yellow wire of the right taillight.

Here is an updated photo, kind of low tech I put sticky notes to show what's what. Hope this helps someone else. The story of me trying to get the correct version of my accessory is becoming a drama show LOL. Anywho here's the pic.

Thanks for posting this up! Did you ever get this installed?

I was wondering what you thought about it and your opinion if it was worth it or not.

Thanks in advance.

I am awaiting the chrome (silver) version that I ordered. The seller sent black by mistake. It will be here this week if the tracking is correct.

I got the LED light bar accessory installed today. Only a couple of small issues but overall it looks great. I shot like an hour of footage so I'm going to try my best to get a video together in case you want to see how easy the install is. OK well it's easy if you have some car wiring / disassembly experience.

How much you paid for it? Does it fit well?

Around $450 Canadian. It fits good except by the backup camera it sticks out a few millimetres, but it's not very\ noticeable.

I'm glad to hear that you got it installed and like it! I'm also looking forward to seeing your video. That would Definitely push me towards trying this myself. Taking things apart and putting them back together is no problem for me, it's the wiring that makes me nervous!

I'm still trying to psych myself up to try the ambient lighting install like you did since Lexus did such a bang up job with ambient lighting (that was sarcasm because they have the Worst ambient lighting setup of any car that I've seen and should be ashamed of themselves for even calling it ambient lighting. Just my opinion though)! Yours looks Fantastic though and is similar to what they should've done!

I'm Sorry for the rant and hi-jack!
