Ok, I know this dealership very well. They have good salespeople there and I’ve heard that their service department is good However, the general sales manager there doesn’t adequately train his salespeople to be more knowledgeable with incoming allocations of what’s coming inbound. This can be frustrating for someone like me who has been looking to find an Ultra Luxury allocation for the last 3 months with the exact interior and exterior color combination with the options that I want. Luckily, I was able to find the exact exterior and interior color combination that I wanted with 98% of the options that I wanted, so everything is ok right now. At the moment, I’m waiting for my UL to be built.

2022 ES 350 Ultra Lux. ***Special Order*** & 2019 ES 350 Lux.
2022 ES 350 Ultra Lux. ***Special Order*** Purchase date January 18, 2022
Cloudburst Gray, black w/ black open pore wood trim.
Options I selected were:
Triple Beam LED Headlamps
Smart Access Card Key
Navigation/Mark Levinson Audio Package
I opted for a standard moonroof over the panoramic glass roof.
MSRP $54,265
Disc. $4873 + Rebate $1500 = $6373
Purchase price before tax: $47,892
Initial order placed with dealer 08/01/21, submitted by Lexus 11/02/21, built 1/04/22, driven home 1/18/22.
2019 ES 350 Lux. Nebula Gray Pearl with Chateau (Shimamoku Brown)
MSRP $52,008
Disc. + Rebate = $11,382
Purchase price $40,626
Build date 2/2019
Sold 12/27/2019
Had almost every option with the exception of triple beams.
I had the power rear sunshade only.
3 standard features only available on Ult. Lux. (2019 models) and no other trim level (even as options) were Semi-aniline leather, manual side window sunshade and lateral performance dampers.
I also had the pano roof and that being the reason I didn’t order my new one with one! Looks nice but had to have it replaced twice and had noise issues.
EDIT**
****I cashed out a year early on my 2019 lease to the tune of $8500 in equity/profit once my 22 UL arrived. I did not sell or trade-in my 19' with my Lexus dealer. The dealership offer was only going to net a $6k profit so I sold to Carmax and got a check on the spot for $8500.***
As a side note, I've sold 2 to CarMax and 2 to Carvana. All 4 were leases. CarMax was easy but Carvana was by far the easiest I've ever sold a car, EVER! I never had to leave my driveway. Got the check on the spot and it took less than 15 minutes!

My deals are rarities and extremely, if not unlikely to be duplicated! Paying MSRP is definitely more the rule than the exception these days.

Well I guess that would look confusing the way I wrote it. Thanks for pointing that out! You are right, they offered me significantly more than $6k. Even in the context of the rest of that line it still would be confusing. I meant that I was only going to get a 6K profit for the money they offered. I don't typically EVER trade with dealerships. They just don't have the ability, due to overhead, to offer as much for a car. Their auction service did a bit better but I finally sold to carmax for a HUGE profit. Mind you that profit was from an early lease turn-in. I still had over a year to go on the existing lease. But I got such an amazing deal on the 19' to begin with that it worked out in the end due to the current market conditions. I know you didn't insinuate this but to be clear my deal on the 22' Ult. Lux. was not based on a trade-in that reduced the price. Sometimes deals are made to appear much better due to money down or factoring in a trade. I never put money down or offer a trade. So I will amend that and thanks for catching it. I often type what my mind is thinking and I was thinking of profit and not how it would be viewed by the audience. Thanks.

Don't feel bad. I pretty much paid MSRP last year, and my dealership has raised the price since then by $1,500 for every car it sells. A nationwide survey this January said 82% of all buyers were paying over MSRP. Remember what you read online isn't a survey, and if people paid more, they won't step forward for fear of looking foolish so you'll never know it.

I will be paying the MSRP sticker price for my 2022 ES350 Ultra Luxury. I wish that there were rebates on this model like there were back in 2020 and 2021. I’ve never paid sticker price for a car before. I wonder when and how long before Lexus will start giving rebates on the ES350 again.

You won’t know of course what rebates or incentives are available until that months programs are released. So if you purchase in May, you’ll have an opportunity to qualify for the available incentives. Don’t bother asking your dealer what those incentives/rebates will be for a future month because they will not know!
