I got this awesome deal in May 2021 for a e300h luxury at 6% dealer discount and with all the lease specials it came down to $542/mo with 0 down and all fees capitalized into the monthly payment. I now sold that car (due to weak engine for highway and stupid rattles from door that dealer couldn’t fix) and bought ES350 UL in Feb for MSRP

1000% will never buy hybrid again with less than 300hp total power on a car of this size. 350 feels well more composed

Man, I did the opposite. I sold my 4RX 350 to get this thing and I've found the power to be pretty adequate. It's not as refined revving high but I do not miss the 8 speed at all. The one in mine was like a lemon and it jerked a lot. Also had plenty of rattles as well.

I am extremely disappointed in newer Lexus rattling issues. My dad has a 2017 RX and it feels more solid than newer ones. Fingers crossed my current ES350 stays rattle free

Hybrids all s u c k. They are underpowered and their engine is anemic. The weight of the ES needs a 6 cylinder engine. Not a 4 cylinder. I would never buy a 4 cylinder Lexus. Never.

Now, Glam, different buyers have different priorities. We have a lot of people on this board who were searching for a car that places a higher priority on amazing economy and a lower priority on a quiet surge of acceleration, and they love their ES 300h's. As part of a household with an ES 350 and a Prius, I bow to Lexus' amazing technical achievement of delivering luxury car levels of everything but power in a large midsize while getting nearly Prius mileage. There's certainly room in the world for both ES flavors.

There will be a time in the future where your only option is a four-cylinder Lexus or an electric Lexus.

As someone who has driven both the 300h and owns a 350, I much prefer my 350 to the 300h. Would I ever own or lease a 300h, no. Do I also feel they are underpowered, YES! Do I see the 300h's appeal and benefits, ABSOLUTELY! It's just not for me but that's the beauty of variety and preference. But to say all hybrid sucks is a short-sided, generalized, and inaccurate comment. I get the gist of point you are attempting to make. If you had said, "all 300h's suck because they are underpowered and anemic," then that would have been more specific to your point of view, but you didn't. For example the RX 450h produces more horsepower than it's 350 equivalent. Granted the 450h does maintain a V6 but it's technically still a hybrid. Also, there are many 4 cylinder vehicles out there that produce considerably more horsepower than the ES 350's V6. I'm not saying those 4 cylinder auto's are hybrid, just making a point.

There are ways to express your opinion while still being objective and respectful to your audience. Definitive, off-handed statements can affect a person's credibility along with other negative ramifications. I am not saying this is your style but don't become one of those posters that is constantly retorting with pompous and condescending opinions. I think you are better than that.

I’m not into hybrids. Others can buy buy a hybrid if they like them. Hybrids aren’t for me. I like the power of a 6 cylinder.

Thats why I just purchased a 6 cylinder Lexus ES350 and a 6 cylinder Toyota Limited 6 cylinder. The 4 cylinder engine and the EV craze will backfire. Just give it some time. Also, over 35% of the jabronis that purchase EV’s go back to ICE gasoline vehicles.

You do realize the V6 is going the way of the dinosaur right? So not exactly sure what you mean by it'll backfire. Clearly the car industry is moving in the direction of hybrid or even more passive hybrid systems found in the German big 3 and EV. Toyota and Lexus already committed to it. I'm also curious where you pulled that 35% statistic.

I resisted hybrid and EV for so long and thought very lowly of them, but they just make perfect sense for my drive/commute. So I will be taking the plunge and am looking forward to a more relaxing commute. Eventually an EV may make its way into my fleet but for now I'm pretty happy I'll be getting a hybrid that's basically been perfected over the last 20yrs, combined with the luxury of a Lexus.
