Floppy Fuel Door
Brought my 2022 ES350 in to my local dealer for its 5000 mile check and asked that they repair the fuel door. When opened, there is no tension to hold it open. The slightest wind blows it closed. Certainly it’s not supposed do that. The service tech said they compared mine to another ‘22 350 and that yes, indeed there is no spring or other mechanism to hold the fuel door open when fueling. Anyone else noticed or had this issue?

I'll have to double check mine. I don't recall feeling it's floppy. but i also don't open it too often

I open mine constantly due to the ridiculous mpg. (Yesterday my service advisor actually recommended I try changing the driving mode from ECO.) Anyway, no problem with the fuel door. Of course it may wear out from overuse.

My '18 LS500 has a floppy door too, I think it's normal but not sure... was nit-picky about a couple items when I had my LS in for service and I was quite sure the dealer would give me the "it's normal" line so I didn't even mention it... it's not a big deal really.
I have a '22 ES300h on order so I will see when it gets here.

Mine also closes with barely a wispy breeze. In the last week, I'm having a problem where it doesn't open when you press the interior release.
I got it open, and wiped down the plastic plunger proddy thing. I'll get it looked at when it's serviced next time.

When is your ‘22 ES300h arriving at your dealer? Did you special order your car or was it a dealer allocation? When do you expect to get your car?

I "ordered" at the end of November (not an actual order, but they could order my spec once they got allocation for an ES). Last I spoke with them at the end of January they were expecting it in mid-March. I'm in Canada mind you. With the border blockade and stuff I don't know if that will still be the most accurate date. I heard that some Kentucky and Cambridge production was interrupted due to the blockade.

Will you be getting your ES through dealer allocation or through special order? I just ordered my '22 ES350 Ultra Luxury on February 7th. My dealer may order my spec ES350 UL when they get an allocation for an ES. They can also special order my car once special ordering opens up in the next one to two months. Lexus production was interrupted for only 1 or 2 days from the blockade, but they resumed production again and everything is flowing and back to normal again. There will be more ES350's on the dealer lots in the next few months. Things have started to pick up again at the Lexus plant in Kentucky. People who put in special orders for the ES350 in January/February and before that will get their car by June.

My understanding is my car wasn’t ordered special, they filled an ES allocation with my spec ES300h UL when they were next able to spec an ES.
