I'm getting occasional warnings sent to my phone to check my back seat on my 2020 ES350 UL. Has anyone ever seen this before? I looked but didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

I think you will get that message if you opened one of the rear doors before you started the engine. The car thinks that you left a child on the rear seat so that’s a remainder.

That's the only time I get the "three red seats of death" indicator. Before I had the seat belt chime disable for all seats, the indicator would light and the chime would sound if I put even the lightest of packages on the back seat. Unless of course, I seat-belted the box of Adult Pampers.

That would be the rear seat reminder. You can disable that feature in settings. I’m including screenshots. I’m 99.9% sure it’s only triggered when locking the vehicle remotely.
***update. It ONLY triggered the reminder when I locked the vehicle remotely. Not in person with the key fob or by touching the handle.


This would be the settings section you control with the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel.

From 22 MY. My 19 Lux. didn't have that feature.

Gosh now I'll have to trade mine in I did notice there seems to be new messages coming through the remote app about checking the back seat. I wonder how it knows my lunch leftovers from yesterday were still back there.

Chances are your phone smelled the pastrami (IOS only).

I guess I jumped the gun. My 2020 also doesn't have that option. Too bad.
