Default 2022 ES 300H dashboard creaking noise

I’ve had my new 300h for 3 months.. I noticed this annoying creaking sound coming from center dash area when I accelerate from a stop (slow or fast) and braking to a stop (when the vehicle is almost brought to a standstill). I did not notice it until recently and am wondering if it’s due to weather getting warmer.. I know it sounds dumb but can’t figure out what else could cause this crackling/creaking noise… Thoughts?

I see you are also from Delaware! I have the 2019 ES300h and it lives outside. I don't experience any creaking noise.

Sounds like bolts or screws not torqued to specs.

I just drove it again and the temperature dropped from 70 to 55 degrees from yesterday… No sound.. Probably why I did not hear it until recently, Winter is ending and something must be expanding within the dash as it gets warmer outside…

I'm the king of all fixes =) It's your drivers and passenger's leather/vinyl knee pads. Pop them off with your fingers and wrap insulating / furry tape over the little plastic nubs that lock into the console.

It took me a while to diagnose this, hours of research and testing. Trust me this is 100% your issue. Super quick cheap and easy fix

THANK ME when you fix it. THANK ME =)

Nope, given the description, it's the knee pads. I already told you guys of this fix long long LONG ago.

I alone am the one who discovered this and posted.

Default Creaking Noise from Screen Area/Wood Trim

I've had my 2022 Lexus ESh Ultra Luxury for a year now. Overall I LOVE the car but this creaking sound from the screen/wood trim on dash area is annoying. I've taken the car in twice. They've taken the dash apart and supposedly inserted additional padding....hasn't helped. I notice this creaking when I'm driving over non-smooth surfaces. The interesting thing is that both loaner cars (both ES') had very similar creaking from the same area. Thoughts?

My thoughts are its the kneepads. Although our situation differs because my crackling noise came during acceleration and on all surfaces. The dealership addressed it by sticking some sort of insulation in the kneepads and that did the trick.

The knee pads pop off in about 2 seconds. You can easily pop one or both off to see if that is the issue.

Thank you for the suggestion. I think this may be the cause of the creaking. Is there a special "tape" you'd recommend wrapping around the prongs? I was going to use electric tape.

I would use sticky-backed felt. I bought a letter-size sheet of it from Michaels and that's what I use, I just cut a strip. I have only used it on my F150, my Lexus hasn't needed any (yet).

Before you buy anything, try the electrical tape since it's free. worst case it doesn't work and you pull it back off. but it will work. anything to stiffen up the joint.

also i was the first, the original, to come up with the fix & discovery. i am the pioneer. check older threads.
