You can judge it well enough for our purposes. The car is 60.6 inches high. He is standing next to it. I can see that he is slightly taller than the car which makes him roughly average height. Not sure why you are making such a big issue out of this. He actually sat in the car with the door closed and said its lacking headroom. You have not sat it in it and completely dismiss his review. Why dont we just judge for ourselves when its released.

LOL I think it is you making a big deal from a video. The guy didn't disclose his height when he made the statement about head room. Normally when someone makes such a statement it is a common practice to disclose his height so the audience have a point of reference. He either forgot it or got a bone to pick with Toyota. Who knows maybe got up on wrong side of bed that day.

Either way anyone buying should take the vehicle out for a test drive regardless and decide for themselves.

This is probably all we will agree on. My hope is it is a preproduction model issue that was fixed.

I watch some of his vids here and there but skip through the start and end for sure.
Continuing the OT discussion, I prefer savagegeese reviews. The production value along with his point of view just lends to a better review, IMO.

On topic, there are elements I like about the new Crown, like the HP of the Platinum trim, but I find it more of a premium offering. I realize this is a preproduction review but based on what I can see in the video, there are elements that are missing that would be a dealbreaker for me. Manual steering wheel adjustment and limited lumbar controls for the driver and none for the passenger to name a few. I believe once the 8th gen ES comes out, the very few elements where the crown may exceed will be addressed.

Manual steering wheel adj at these price points is a non starter for me. My wife and I tend to drive each others cars pretty regularly so the memory settings incl steering wheel are a must.

Certain convenient features are reserved for Lexus model as the last thing Toyota wants is sales cannibalization into their upscale division.

I know why they do it but it's stupid. I have a loaded RAV4 Prime and it has power seats, ventilated seats, 360 camera, memory seats, rearview mirror camera, etc, loaded to the gills, but the one thing I want is power steering column adjustment because we both drive the car regularly. Lexus at the end of the day are overpriced Toyotas but alas you have to pay to play.

Sure but then you have a Hyundai. It has issues you have to deal with and Scotty kilmer can tell you all about them. The man gets going whenever someone says Kia/Hyundai are same as a Toyota / Honda. LOL.

I hear you - just seems like nickel and diming the customer. I don't care as I won't be buying a Crown regardless

That's over simplification. Lexus models generally are more refined compare to their Toyota counter parts as Lexus tuned out more of the NVH out of the vehicle.

It was an included option on the 2019-2022 Avalons Limited and Touring, so ................

That Crown reminds me the old Honda Crosstour, I think it was called. It's certainly not the elegant luxury car the 350 ES is. If the Crown becomes Lexus' successor to the ES, I'll simply keep my 2021 ES 350 (only 8k miles on it now) for "the duration." As durable as it is and for as moderately as we gently drive it (5K miles/year or so ), I'm sure it will take this senior citizen couple to "the end" and then some!
Makes me feel like I'm playing a good hand for a change!

IMO, ES owner's have nothing to fear. I see the Crown as more of an Avalon replacement and the ES will invariably become an 8th gen model for the 2025 MY. I am very curious to see what that will look like.
