Does anyone have instructions for removing the chrome window trim on our cars?

Why would you want to remove the chrome windows trim? You don’t like it? What would you replace it with?

Maybe he wants to get rid of the Chrome and go black. Why? Blacks looks a whole lot better.

I think you basically damage it if you remove it. If you are just trying to black it out, you could leave it on and vinyl wrap it.

Yeah. I want to wrap it, but I think it would be a lot easier if I could remove the trim. There are certain parts where I want to tuck it under the rubber.

I have looked into this extensively and there seems to be two options. One you can have them painted which is costly and messy, not to mention fairly expensive to have it done well. The other option is a professional wrapper and from what I’ve seen at about $700 to do the windows and the front and rear of the car. I did my last car myself but it was a Honda accord and the seals were nowhere as tight as this Lexus.

You wrap it in place. You don’t remove it.

I ordered from EBAY Black trim covers made of stainless. once i get them in a month or so i will post before and after with a review. My trim got a dent so i am going this route though i will use gloss black.

Also there are tons of videos showing guys who wrapped car trim DIY using 3M knife tape... looked simple. search "wrap using 3m knifeless tape"

Car looks great and I'm generally not a fan of these cosmetic updates. Red, wrapped trim, black wheels - awesome combo.
