Wow the extended warranty debate is spreading like cancer here

For the record, I would not accept buying a new car without a warranty, yet I did not agree to pay extra for an extended warranty.

Back on topic, I've had exactly one problem: seat memory that didn't memorize from the factory. A dealer reset fixed it.

The seat memory function can be reset? My 6-week old 2022 UL just developed that problem a day or two ago, worked fine originally but for some reason now the recall memory doesn’t respond. I was planning on making a service appointment but curious about your experience. Is this one of those things only the dealer can reset?

2020 ES 300h Luxury leased 9/5/2020
a) January 2021 noticed the passenger seat "tilted" inward. Secure and tight, just at a slight angle.
Long thread here in CL, seems to be limited to Kentucky built Flaxen Interior cars. Fixed OK.
b) October 2021 sunroof rattle. Tightened screws and all's well. Same noise in our last generation
2018 ES 300h that was also easily fixed (and did not return)

Overall extremely nice and improved over our 2018 and 2014 ESh's. Getting 51 MPG in the summer
and 44 in the (Chicago) winter on E10 fuel. 20250 total miles at 20 months, going to buy out this lease
when the time comes.

For me, the feature never worked from the time of delivery. The dealer didn't know sight unseen exactly what would be required to fix it, but did some kind of reset with what appeared to be relative ease. I knew it wasn't working because my previous card had the feature and I was used to using it. I supposed at first that it was me misusing it somehow, but kindly people helping out on this board as well as a recheck of the owner's manual confirmed that no, it just wasn't working. And to your question, I'm not aware of any way for anyone but the dealer to reset that system.

There was a thread here awhile back that explained how anyone could do the reset. Try searching if you're really curious.

I think I saw it at the time. I don't recall why I either concluded it didn't sound applicable to my situation, or tried and failed to do it. Maybe it was just inertia that the dealer had that nice shiny warranty. :.)

Always fun to return to the dealer especially if they serve decent bagels

I wasn't even smart enough to take advantage of that. I had them pick it up and drop it off.

420 miles.
developed a rattle on the passenger visor. Took it in and got a loaner.
Also noticed the driver side door takes a bit more strength to close so it might be off alignment. Asked them to check it out too.

Are these current problems, or did they already succeed/fail in fixing them?

Current, but it's a brand new car and a Lexus. So this rattle is what I'm considering a manufacturing error or assembly error.

Hopefully it'll be done tomorrow.

On my 2019 Luxury, I had a few issues especially in the beginning. These were the notes taken directly from my vehicle's service history. The only thing missing, and I was surprised, that my warranty-covered pano. roof replacement was not included in the service history!!! It occurred between 10,000 and 15,000 miles. There was a noise/rattle coming from the roof that required the entire pano. roof to be replaced.

They did have to deal with a few rattle and door issues. As for my 2022 Ultra Lux., I haven't had a single issue other than the ridiculous wireless charger not charging with its case on. *** The details of that were explained more comprehensively in another thread. ***

Haven't noticed any jerky brakes, but I am still getting used to driving the vehicle and especially for that last few seconds of braking when the pads make contact with the rotor. I do feel a "catch" or "grab" as I get to that point, so just learning to ease into it a bit better.
