2021 ES300h fuel economy

Isn’t 1.8 tons too heavy for a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine? That’s like an overweight person trying to run a marathon. Their heart (which is the engine) will stop working because of all the stress that’s put on it from all the weight of the person. The same thing would happen to the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine. It would get stressed too much from the 1.8 ton weight of the vehicle and break down. Bad choice for Lexus and Toyota to get rid of the 6 cylinder engine and put an anemic 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine in a 4 door sedan or in the RX. Very poor judgment.
Also, I’m not saying that buying and owning a hybrid is not a good choice. Please don’t think this. I just wish that they had more horsepower and more pickup (torque). That’s all. If they did, I would buy one in a heartbeat. Heck, I would purchase only Toyota and Lexus hybrid vehicles if this was the case. I don’t doubt the reliability of the hybrids. I just wish that they were more powerful like the 6 cylinder. I hope that I’ve cleared everything up for everyone in here.

The amount of backpedaling you're doing in this thread alone is hilarious. You've gone from saying that Toyota/Lexus made a very poor judgement call by putting an anemic 4 cylinder in their vehicles, which implies that the buyers of said vehicles made the wrong choice. Now you're ending it on saying that the buyers of 300h didn't make the wrong choice, but didn't make the right choice either apparently since it's not a ES 350. Come on man.....

Time to close another thread. Let's face it - 350 owners are happy with their cars and hybrid owners likewise. We all made a choice when purchasing for different reasons. There's really no right or wrong.

I agree there is no right or wrong when choosing a vehicle, it's all subjective. However, there is right or wrong when responding to a thread topic with an irrelevant opinion. His need for attention is toxic at this point.

The problem is this, you cannot use the the full potential of the ES350 with FWD. It is not possible.
The amount of power that the 300h produces is maximum what this FWD car can put on the front wheels. I have both of them so I know what I am talking about.

So let's go back to the topic
I am driving an ES 300h for about 1.5 year, and I have registered the calculated fuel consumption after every refuel at a German website "spritmonitor.de". You can see the consumption of my car by this link: https://www.spritmonitor.de/de/detai...t/1217959.html.
When you convert the data to MPG, you will see a best MPG of 49.8 (in summer), a worst MPG of 39.2 (in winter), and the alltime average is 43.5 MPG. My driving profile is about a third city, a third main road (53 mph) and a third highway (66 mph). Very impressive for such a car, and it's an extra bonus in addition to the smooth and quiet ride.
BTW, over here in Western Europe the ES is only available with the 300h drivetrain, which makes life a lot easier

Trying to have rational conversations with obstinate people usually ends in frustration. The only way to put an end to it is to not respond or take the bait. Only when forced to stop will they ever stop. That doesn't seem likely to ever happen.

Yes, that's right. Toyota/Lexus made a poor judgement call by putting an anemic engine in their vehicles. Toyota/Lexus could've built a more powerful hybrid engine, but for whatever reason which we will never know, they didn't. Also, I never implied that the buyers of the 300h made the right or the wrong choice by choosing the 300h hybrid. I just was stating my honest opinion about how underpowered the 4 cylinder hybrid engine is. Nothing more nothing less. The only 2 good things about the hybrid is its excellent fuel economy and its smoothness. That's it. No matter how you try to debate this, the hybrid is still an anemic and underpowered engine. And yes, it's not like the ES350. I wish that it was.
@glamglam ,
I would like for you to consider the above your last post on this subject.
You have stated your opinion on this topic repeatedly across multiple threads and have had plenty of opportunities to do so politely without much success.
You’ve made your position known, and it’s great that you are happy with your v6 choice but there are other members whose choices are equally right, for different reasons. There is no need to continually crap on their decision or their fine vehicles.
You share this forum with them, time to get along or move along.

Let’s get back on topic

I don't think anyone feels the 350 is a Porsche but the driving experience is certainly different than the hybrid - I've driven both as well. Different stokes for different folks.
