If you enlarge the first photo (with the female model) you can see what looks like the white triangle on the present CD eject button below the driver's seat ventilator control and just above the model's arm. However, you can't see anything like that (or anything appearing like the present CD player area) in the second photo. So, I don't think you can tell from those press release photos what the status of the CD player may be.

Hmmm....From the press release:
...include wireless smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay (or wired connection via Android Auto)...
reads like wireless only applies to Apple CarPlay. Seems odd that wireless would be Apple CarPlay only but why write it like that in the press release if there isn't a difference in connection mode capabilities between Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?

I edited my post, I missed the detail.

QUOTE=LS500Fan;11319146]So news is finally officially public about the 2023 ES.

- redesigned console
- dual cupholders beside each other
- wireless CarPlay
- wireless phone charger on top of console instead of inside storage box
- new screen user interface on the screen including climate controls on the screen (physical buttons remain though), "Hey Lexus" commands, cloud based navigation, etc.

Full press release here on the EU site, will follow shortly I would think for North America (long weekend there)...

Where are the USB ports?

P.S. I see the passenger seat got the memory buttons.

On the whole, I think it's a very positive set of changes. One interesting detail is that the analog clock stayed; I seem to recall some speculation it was toast.

I don't see a CD player, and I assume it IS toast. That I'd miss, and on that basis alone, I don't regret getting the '22 setup instead. But the one thing I really wish I had in this arrangement is the storage space they cleared by moving the wireless charger. It's one of the features I tried to delete and couldn't, and I miss the storage space it consumes.

No CD Player es300h 2023

Here it is. no cd player, dual cup holder. I downloaded the media, enhanced it and zoomed in

None of these updates are enough for me to cancel my incoming ‘22 UL, though adding all wheel drive to the V6 models would.

Not much of an update. Which just means the next generation of the ES is coming next year.

Maybe, but as a 2024 model.

Agreed. The more I look, the more I still see basically the same car I purchased nearly four years ago. But actually not a thing wrong with that. It's still a beautiful sedan and aging just fine.

I have updated my original post to include the removal of the CD player, thanks. It appears they’ve also put a stupid cover over top the USB ports again, sigh.

I got my 22 UL at the end of April, so I get what you mean. On the other hand, these are fairly minor changes and I love my 22, and given on-going production and inflationary issues I’m glad I got mine when I did! The 23’s may be even harder to get than the 22 was so I’m good for now.

I’d like to know what vehicle settings have been put into the new UI. I understand nav, CarPLay, fuel economy, etc, but what settings will be customizable in there? For example will ambient lighting brightness be there? That sort of thing….
