Also looks like they got rid of the physical button for the rear sunshade. Hard to see what's constructive about that.

Ultra Lux models do anyway. It's pathetic dim accent lightning, not like other automakers ambient lighting. I have another thread going where I am experimenting with improving the stock ambient lighting.

The second photo I posted shows the rear sunshade button. The pic posted later by someone else does not have cooled seats so that's not a top spec model.

Well, Im glad I found this forum and saw this thread. I went to test drive a 2022 ES350 Ultra Luxury last week and loved the car. The only things I did not like were the wired Apple Car Play and the awkward touch pad. Not deal breakers but they were my only complaints. Will definitely wait until later in the year to get the 2023 model especially since all the dealerships are only offering MSRP.

In that case you may want to wait for the 24MY which will likely be a new design. The 23 will quickly be dated.

Ouch, not gonna lie, had I known these changes were coming back in December when I got my 22, I'd have likely waited and kept my 14 ES (69K miles) another year. I do have a wireless carplay adapter but I really do not like the current console layout (although the wireless charger being in the console isnt so bad, unless the 2023 has a strong magnet, I can see it being out in the open as being a pain.

From the looks of it, does look like the center wood (or plastic for Base/Premium) for the cup holder is gone now, which seems to be about the only minus I can see

Is that official or just speculation? I wonder what they will be upgrading. The 2023 will have everything I want. Waiting a few months is one thing waiting a 1.5 years is probably too long for me.

One thing will likely be downgraded for the new ES…the engine. It is extremely likely the the ICE V-6 will be eliminated and replaced with a turbo-4. I hate it, but unfortunately that is the direction the industry is heading and Toyota, after not rushing in as did many, is now moving in that direction as well.

If that's the case then purchasing a 2023 is a no brainer for me. I don't drive enough daily to make fuel savings a big value driver. I really liked how the V6 felt. We have a hybrid minivan for longer family drives.

For the record, luxury models do too, at least they did in 2019. You just have to look carefully to even notice. I don’t understand why they even bothered if they were going to make it so subtle.

Default 2023 ES (info & pics out)

Re-jiggled cupholder area (smart) and something about a new communication module for doing stuff through the app. also a new interior color. The little panel on top of the dash seems new... i'm not too sure though. Everything else seems samey. But i really like the touchpad delete and new cupholder design. New wireless charging area... i guess?

Negative to that one. My '22 UL with this interior color has a black headliner.

Overall, this seems to confirm the '23 in the US will indeed have the same updates as the European '23 described in the other recent thread. A nice upgrade, provided you don't care as much about the CD player as I do.
