Default Air-conditioned the garage

Not exactly Lexus related but I finished my mini split install in the garage so now both my wife’s IS 300 and my ES 350 get to enjoy a climate controlled garage. So while it’s 102° in Texas today they get to set in a nice 75° to 77° garage. And I can’t tell you how enjoyable it is to come out into the garage now and do any kind of projects that need to be done.

Those mini splits are excellent products. Great for a large room like a garage or hot bedroom. Your garage looks like it's from a sample/display home...

Very nice. A mini split for the garage is one my list of home improvements. Did you do it yourself, or have a company do it?

I did it myself, the best quote I got was $4000 and I think I have $1500 in the install. Went with a Senville 18k BTU unit and they were on sale for $999 plus tax.

Slick installation. And a neat and clean garage based on what's visible, just as bc6152 said.

I'm a big believer that garage-kept cars live longer. All the more true when you're not baking the rubbers and plastics in an oven of Texas heat. Good for you, and good for your car.

How big is your garage?. I live in Miami, FL area and my garage is 2 for two cars. Coincidentally today I was thinking in installing a mini split AC in the garage. In my case I have a gym in the garage. Will 18K btu AC unit will be enough or too much for a 2 car garage?

I have a standard two car garage in Texas which is about 25 x 25 and the 18 KW unit is having no problem whatsoever keeping my garage 75° while it’s 104 outside. My garage doors are insulated and two of the walls are insulated while the third wall is not insulated, brick construction home on a slab foundation manufactured in 2018. I’m really surprised how quickly the garage cools back down even after pulling a hot car in and shutting the door, it’s likely because everything in the garage is already cool except for the car that was pulled in.

That looks Great! Congratulations also on doing it yourself!

This might not apply to weather in Texas but does it have a heat pump on it too for when it gets chilly out? I live in an area that has four seasons and one of them is COLD!

I did get the unit that was a heat pump so it will provide heat on cold days as well. So far I have really enjoyed the climate controlled garage.😆

They are all heat pumps by design.
