How often should you change oil if doing mostly city driving.
Hey, fellas. I do mostly city driving, about 95%. I was wondering how often I should change my engine oil. I couldn’t find anything in the manual that gave recommendations, nor did I find anything on this forum. I know it’s every 10K under normal driving conditions, but what about with city driving?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Check under the severe driving section in the owners manual that's what I consider city driving.

Yeah personally i'd go with EsH's interval. 7,500 is likely fine too. but no more..

If you use good oil 7,500 is fine*, BUT if you only drive very short trips you'll need to shorten it by a lot.
*any fully synthetic oil is at least acceptable.

That's awful for any engine even in a hot climate. Run the best oil you can afford and change it every 3000 miles.

I do take the car on longer trips (highway etc); I put on about 5 - 6k miles per year. I change the oil every 6 months regardless of mileage (in April & October as we live in a cold climate during the winter so I kill 2 birds with 1 stone so to speak by getting my winter / all season tires changed over at the same time)....I only have 17,500 km's (11k miles) on my 2020.
I religiously use Amsoil OW 20 'signature series' synthetic oil, along with the Amsoil synthetic oil filter for my ES 350. Been using nothing but Amsoil products in every internal combustion engine I own since 2000.
Link here for what you need... https://www.amsoil.com/lookup/auto-a...lume=us-volume
Don't be afraid once or twice a week to drive the car 20+ miles to keep the battery charged & give er a good run on the highway.
If you are looking for the best engine protection, you won't be disappointed.
