Default Manual Operation of AC

I really miss the AC on off button. Is there a way to turn off AC without having to use the touch pad to find the right menu, then find AC, then double tap it off? I am talking about turning off AC without turning off fan. Thanks.

You can use you voice to turn it on/off.

Still involves tapping but just touch the Nav/Media screen right side HVAC button
to show the 1/3 screen. A/C is lit up in green, just tap it there. No need to go through
the Menu. When the windows start to fog up you don't need any of those steps, just touch
HVAC Auto and the compressor will switch back on.

Just set recycle/auto on the dash to turn AC on and just toggle back to outside air to turn it off. No need to mess with the screen. This has come up in the past and some people don't like but it is easy to do.

That's the best way to turn AC on and off. I use this all the time.

Great tip. I like untreated fresh air and had to go all the way on menus to Econ and turn Air off, etc. Real distraction!
Toggle back is excellent---potential life saver, literally!

Top position is re-circ air, bottom position is outside air. When either are combined with middle.notch of “air conditioning” they are cooled. Then green light glows. If no green light, no air conditioning. Easy peasey! Mine’s a 2021 ES 350.

I'll have to try that. Still it's silly there's no AC button. Things should be intuitive.

Any easy way to disable the dual-zone without menu-diving for 5 minutes? i hate having that warm when my passenger is in the car then when i'm alone i have to disable it in the menus.

Button on my ES2020h reads

recirculate
auto
outside

doesn't matter which option I use AC is still on.
Even when I have Climate screen up AC doesn't toggle on/off regardless of the button selection.
It is 90 degrees outside and I was driving for 3-5 min with different selections and I had cold air all the time.

Played with it today and to make it work is in settings turn off Auto AC and then turn off AC in climate settings. Fan can be used with fresh or recirculate air switch without AC and pushing till green light comes on auto means AC is on and pressing to other air modes cuts AC off but fan still works. For me leaving it like that would not work because if auto is in recirculate and I need to close it because of smoke etc ahead the AC would cut off which I would not want. I have navigation if that makes any difference. Glad to know there is a way if I want.

Thank you. That worked for me. I don't ever intend to use it as I prefer auto setting but it is good to know.

While we are hacking the A/C controls another one addresses the cooling seats.
Except for LS's our seats are ventilated and draw air from the floor.
The Auto A/C setting (with or without compressor) selects Dash Vents only for cold air.
The Auto setting in the winter selects the floor vents, heat rises right?
The hack is to press the HVAC Mode button just once in hot weather to change the
Auto setting of dash only to dash and floor. Now cool air will flow to your feet and seat!
